Not only that, but in these communities the only way for women to make a (by their standards) meaningful contribution to the world is by producing as many children as possible. Being a good person, much less a good mother, is not rewarded or appreciated, but being a good breeder is celebrated.

I agree, it may not be that dissimilar to a fetish in that procreating is the one thing that gives women value in their community. IMR, I think that’s done on purpose. They assign younger children to older daughters specifically because they consider girls to be “mother’s in training”.
