Good....piss off.

I’m arguing that “erasure” of the words “women” and “woman” is not happening, as evidenced by the fact that the two organizations highlighted as having done this in the op-ed arguing against this supposed phenomenon routinely use those terms in talking about those issues. I’m also arguing that the terms you’re

Ummm…I have too, both of the examples I pointed to did use that exact, more inclusive, more accurate language. 14 year old cis girls get pregnant, so abortion is not only a women’s issue, women eventually stop having periods, so issues affecting periods don’t affect all women, etc.). They also commonly used the less

Agreed, she was quite lovely in CoF, and as a result has looked emaciated to me ever since. Still a wonderful actress.

Yes, they are. Words specific to women, like “women” and “woman” are not being erased. One of the examples Pamela Paul used in her idiotic op-ed about this was the Lancet’s coverage of menstrual issues, which included the phrase “bodies with vaginas.” But the actual article uses the word “women” throughout

Back in my teens, at an age when idolizing a role model is a much simpler feat, I used to be the hugest fan of JK Rowling. I was a wannabe children’s author (still am, after a couple of late-stage publisher rejections) and looked up to her as I studied creative writing and wrote a couple of early novels about myths

Pompous: Caring about how people might reflect on your life and actions.

Yes it’s terrible that we aren’t promoting the brand of Women the way we used to. And “pregnant people” is an awful phrase, obviously. I mean, affirming the personhood of those who are pregnant? Awful.

When I was in high school a man came into the women’s locker room at the public pool where I worked and swam. He recorded videos of women and girls taking showers. A combination lock on the door did not keep him out. My swim coach and an aquarobics instructor finally caught him and he was arrested. In college a man

If people think the use of terms like “people who menstruate” or “child-bearing people” diminish women I’m side-eyeing the hell out of them because I thought feminists didn’t want to be defined solely by their reproductive organs

Minnie Driver was actually a skinny person who gained a non-inconsequential amount of weight to audition for Circle of Friends (and was told she would have gotten the part even if she were still skinny), and then lost it again after filming was done.

Thats the rub. She never, ever considers some kid is gonna be sitting there reading a Harry Potter book seriously....hell it may be their first ‘real’ book and someone, somewhere is going to give them shit or tell them to not read it because of the author’s real life shitty ass behavior.

I agree with you, but humans in general think we have a different legacy than we actually do. Spoiler: your legacy is that you'll be forgotten in 70 years and you've done nothing for the world. Eat Arby's.

If you are able to notice somone in the restroom is trans, the pervert is not the trans person...the pervert is you, the creepy cis gender wad sneaking peaks

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with discussing one’s concern that some developments in our language may diminish the visibilty of Women... until you start writing novels about transexual serial killers and fretting a out molestors in dressing rooms. Ican no longer consider one’s concern.

I have no doubt that Ms. Rowling has been a victim of abuse and I am sure that has been traumatic. Being a victim of abuse does not give her the right to belittle or worse yet, continue the abuse of others.

God damn I am so fucking sick of this being called a witch hunt. THERE WERE NO ACTUAL WITCHES. JKR IS CLEARLY ANTI-TRANS.
