I’m not sure I have ever had a gentle doctor or nurse before. As a child I used to ask the nurses to be gentle when I would get shots, seemed to make them rougher. As an adult I had a nurse say “STOP MOVING or ELSE” and to this day I am still wondering what the hell the ‘or else’ part would have included.

IUD insertion is indeed incredibly painful. I was told it would be “some pressure.” While it was really more like an ice pick to the uterus.
