Can I ask as a genuine question, are there people that actually find the term "grammar nazi" personally offensive? Because if so I will straight away stop using it. I am so used to seeing Nazis used as the butt of the joke from WWII propaganda onwards that I had interpreted this phrase as belittling them.

So, having skimmed through the comments, I think my only real question is whether it is accurate to refer to people calling for a moratorium on the use of the term "Nazi" as a descriptor for rigid, inflexible people, as "Nazi" Nazis?
