It really defined his career! It really seemed like he found his stride after that film, before he seemed like he was having real mixed success in the big box office films, and after In Bruges he’s done quite a few great roles. I honestly would enjoy Fantastic Beasts more if he stuck around too.

Pissing the night away...

I’m just confused why they call his roles “starring” for either- both films he’s not even the main antagonist in. They are both probably the most notable films he’s been in of late, but neither was very significant roles relative to Farrell, or good examples of his acting. The examples I gave are pretty wide-ranging

... Interesting “starring” choices for him- an upcoming film that he’s supporting in, and a four-year-old film that he’s a supporting (I’d call minor) character in. Not more distinguishable roles, like The Lobster, In Bruges, Killing of a Sacred Deer, Seven Psychopaths.

Rot in UK prison, sure. The US is still definitely a far worse aggressor than the allegations make Assange out to be, and its targeting Assange over the 2010 Wikileaks is pure spite. There would be more validity if they were to go after him and Wikileaks over its targeting of the Clinton campaign, but alas, America be

Ivory Aquino is a pretty fucking cool name.

I don’t know what you’re picking up specifically, but what with all the recent Spanfeller changes going on (ie. the remaining veteran AV Club talent getting gutted by its new EIC), I’d expect Gizmodo as you enjoy it will not exist for very long. We’ve already seen the mass exoduses (exodi?) from Kotaku & Deadspin,

I think it’s going to happen in a matter of time, once Ubisoft has particular game mechanics that will work well for such an idea. And I’d be totally fine with it happening too- I purchased Valhalla but can’t bring myself to finish it, it doesn’t really feel like that release added much to the franchise that wasn’t in

lol that would be great if that happens, but I always have doubt in the SEC and FTC, both act too infrequently and punish far too little.

I have word that Peloton CEO John Foley is employing a cost-saving measure and sending out Better.com CEO’s Zoom firing video to all affected employees. Foley’s great decision is projected to increase his yearly bonus by 27%.

Yeah, we can chalk that up to “00's era feminism”, through a male (read: toxic asshole) gaze.

Should it happen? Of course not. Should they pay the money - yes. But it was an accident. And they happen.

A big OOF on that one there, Whedon.

I feel so much sympathy for Charisma Carpenter. I always liked how Cordelia developed in Angel, then they weirdly killed her off. I originally just chalked it up to Whedon’s penchant for tugging at your heartstrings from the blue, but sure enough it was part of his need to fuck around with her life because she had the

A lot of these MeToo cases are followed up by the abusers in power saying some form of “It’s really bad people felt that way, I am going to use this position of power to make good in the world!”. Weinstein did it too, Louis CK did it as well. I think it’s because abusers like Whedon relish their power, and are

WILLIE MAYS GOT NARDS!

I totally think you are in the right on this, both parties, under healthy standards, would do best not to keep opening this wound for the sake of their public lives. For Britney, though, I can totally see that part of her healing could very well involve being very public in her defense against her vulture family-

I feel you. If we are talking about classic films, I think those are ones that well-made and you have plenty of fun rewatching them. A “near perfect” film is a movie you can go back and have a new experience from. Big Trouble in Little China is definitely one of those. I don’t know if I’m alone on this, but Mad Max

I haven’t seen Don’t Look Up yet, but The Big Short and Vice are fantastic films.

This sentiment ended 2 years ago, after Rogan started going on about “cancel culture”, and worse, now that he’s gone full pseudoscience on vaccinations, ivermectin, and covid.
