There’s a show on Netflix called Criminal: France, and Episode 1 reminds me of this whole topic. I won’t tell you any more but it’s worth a watch.

My Dad is dying. Not from Covid19. He is blind and has dementia, and on Friday he fell over, which happens sometimes. He fractured his skull, and his brain is bleeding. He’s not a candidate for surgery, so now we just wait. He’s not in any pain, he’s mostly just sleeping.

I haven’t, but my best friend who’s quarantining in another country has a couple of times. She’s also breaking quarantine on the reg to hang out with her friends. It’s honestly pissing me off so much. People are DYING. She’s not taking it seriously at all. She also has the nerve to complain to me about how stressful

As a single, older woman, the hardest thing for me about the quarantine has been the lack of sex. Before the virus struck, I was seeing a much younger man although we quietly drifted apart right as restrictions were being put into place. He hasn’t contacted me; I haven’t contacted him. But the yearning for sex does

Congrats!

Ahhh, life with the “oh you know, ‘bout this much” methodology. :)

Well done! It is great to hear good news anytime, but especially great to hear it now.  Thanks for sharing!

Congrats! Good things happen seldom enough in this life—enjoy when they come your way.

I have celiac disease, so it’s the trusty King Arthur Flour gluten free yellow cake recipe. I’m sure their regular recipe is also lovely!

Congratulations! That’s fantastic news! Agree that it’s wonderful to hear good news at times like this. I’m thrilled for you!

Good news is evidence that the world can still be ok is not to be felt guilty about!

I like that we have similar recipe-writing styles. :) “Got some ____? Throw it in there. Or sub it out with ____, doesn’t matter. Add some ____, idk, maybe half a cup? Whatever you feel like. Cook it for, you know, a while, until it looks like food or something.”

I'm still staying in for the time being. I did walk to a medical appt. today and got a little overheated. So now I'm chugging cucumber water.

Re: your last paragraph, SAAAAAAME. We’re starting to open back up too (restaurants and bars are still limited to takeout only for the next two weeks at least, tho) and CROWDS and also “half these people are stone-ass morons, I am Concerned.”

Such good news, so good to hear!

Whay have you been cooking? We celebrated our tenth anniversary yesterday the best we could with everything shut down, I made arancini, and tried to make them look “fancy” since we normally would have gone somewhere nice for a big occasion.

I watched the video, and was not expecting that. In a good way. She’s actually self-deprecating and admits her goof-ups instead of editing them out. And she’s not afraid to look silly. Damn, now I have to follow her, right?

I’m pleased as hell for all your good news! You deserve all good things coming your way. If your brain tries to lie to you and sabotage you, you just come right to this post and remind yourself that this internet stranger knows that you are worthy.

All good news and thanks for sharing!
