I wish, but alas; too wide (at the top for my skinny chicken ankles) and too heavy (a day on my feet in these would fuck my hips right up.) Perhaps I need a sitting-based job.

Thank you lovely, job is still absurdly hard and absurdly good. Freedom from marriage is wonderful and I’m looking for a place to have a bit of independence which can’t come too soon after so long with family xx

It could become a seasonal feature. Polar Express at Christmas, tons of light at diwali, Easter bunny/eggs come springtime, ghost train. I support this proposal.

We’ve rescued 2 hedgehogs in the last week. Craig and Hermione both seem to have left home before getting chunky enough to hibernate. They’re delightful, stinky little hogs.

Long long week that ended with a train to my sister (who needed tlc after being mugged this week. She’s shaken but ok.) I can’t believe that next week starts tomorrow already, no rest for the wicked.

It’s so exciting that you two are off to Panama, I sincerely hope it’s everything you both need and a million good things more.

Mya, I’m so pleased to hear your doctor is on the case. It will be a teary time for a while I suspect but the promise of the medication helping, a regular dose of therapy and your money starting up again are all golden glows on your horizon. Are you still in need of a cooker? I'm still on the look out xx

Missed SNS last night because of these guys. All chilled my end, no dramas worth reporting.  Biggest love to everyone.

Congratulations to you! I’m so pleased to hear you managed to pull together a spectacular day and have your dad with you to celebrate.

This coeliac with alcohol-induced gluten-lust says there can never be too much bread...let the normals enjoy the delicious food and to hell with convention

Maya, you honoured your friend in a way that felt right. This is good. Honestly, screw the haters, grief is heavy and you’re carrying it with sincerity. Hugs to you dear x

Not heard of this before but I will absolutely check it out! My grandmother was in her teens during the war so wasn't allowed to "work" as such but she used to ride her pony around with encrypted messages between army bases which is pretty cool for a kid :)

We raise a glass to them and give thanks for their example <3

In the 40s and 50s my grandmother shared a flat with a couple of friends and they couldn’t afford a new dress for every party or dance they went to (rationing etc) so they would save up to buy bolts of fabric and hand stitch each other into dresses of their own creation, each one unique and never to be seen again. Who

Well my internet hugs and my real-life trust are yours as long as you might need them. Honestly the dames on this here SNS have kept me going over the last year and a half like you wouldn't believe. Please keep checking in and letting us know how you are, we're rooting for you darling.

Huge hugs to you. My ex husband became abusive as soon as we got married and for several months I understood it to be shitty fallout from a one-off mental health crisis. I tried so hard not to feel all the (very reasonable) things I was feeling and it did me no good. Each of your feelings, however surprising or

One of those months, huh? I sincerely hope that November is better and holds no drama or nastiness for any of you.

Rationally I believe you have every right to feel however you feel about this enormous thing that has happened.

Sending love and strength to you. If you can find a therapist or friend to talk through it all with you might find it helps. These things are all so traumatic and you deserve a relationship with your body that is peaceful. Hopefully the surgery achieves this in the physical sense at the very least.

I wish I had something more helpful to offer than an internet hug but alas. Sending the hug anyway x
