The only series I’ve seen do a reboot that wasn’t just a type of remake was Star Trek, and that one involved time travel.

I later on went to say: “And yet, despite the racist undertones of how ignorant he is, he’s still the character of the main four with the most positive portrayal.”
It has to be failed, ludicrous books written by women.
At the time, it wasn’t actually that sexist. Of course, “not that sexist” for 1980s is still pretty sexist by 2010s. Society needed time to grow up.
Right. So, we have three options.
I include the second movie for a reason... It shows the consequences of what happened in the first, and sets up a continuation of the hauntings. And, in turn, sets up the possibility of a third.
Their science careers being successful actually depended on other people accepting the science.
The part I liked about the movie was that, despite having him less educated, he was generally treated as competent and intelligent.
A lot of the movie was pretty much focused on real-world paranormal “science” and demonstrating just how goofy a lot of the theories are. It’s really a deceptively biting commentary on paranormal theories.
Actually, my concept of “failed” is “got fired from the job and never do it again.” Also, your concept of them being proven right is not actually born out in the movies; despite ghosts obviously existing in the first, the second one reveals no one really accepts it. It’s not until the video game that we find out that…
You’re right. It’s not a remake. I just checked the official IMDB plot synopsis. It manages to be even more sexist.
And if you think about it, the plotline is sexist when gender-swapped as well.
The original movie actually was a bit racist, if you think about it. A lot of people are willing to forgive it for that because, really, it says a lot more worse things about the white characters than the black one. So the subtle racism is often not noticed or just ignored.
I don’t have faith. Because I know that if they are true to the plot of the movie, it says nothing positive about women.
The part that disappoints me the most? The idea of repeating this with other movies is going to be judged on how this one does.
I’ve seen the trailer. Even if it weren’t Ghostbusters... the trailer is just that bad. I mean it. If I were to judge this movie entirely on the trailer, I would never watch it.
Patent law.
They want to just stop the terrorists, not turn the Middle East into a giant glass sculpture.
Unfortunately, of all of the options actually being considered, it’s the cheapest.
Repeat this gif four times. That’s the reaction I had to this.
