Lighter cars aren’t riding around on pizza cutter eco tires. Everything else you mentioned has other means of achieving traction. In the case of EVs, their traction is overwhelming derived from their weight. Traction is needed to apply power to the ground. Your straw man arguments don’t negate fundamental physics.

I’m sorry if this is going over your head.

Yes, because of their weight. They would not be able to achieve traction without the weight.

It is always true, I didn’t say it wasn’t. To your point, the increased M in EVs also increases F.

F1 cars use aerodynamics for downforce and wider tires with a stickier compound to improve traction. Traction from EVs is largely derived from their weight. It’s not “some” traction, it’s an enormous amount of traction. 545 lb-ft of instant torque in something weighing what a Miata does would not result in a similar

Yes, but so are many cars.

Only of you can get traction. Traction is the limiting factor in many cars.

That’s pretty good looking, and I’m not a fan of most EVs or Kia.

1st: You can continue to try to twist that however you want, but this is simply them seeing an opportunity to get money either directly or indirectly. You’ve got a pretty weird outlook on the world, Raphael.

They shouldn’t.

I’ll add to that: I would be embarrassed to be seen driving this thing. It’s hideous. It looks like Pimp My Ride got a hold of a Little Tikes.

$50,000 for a car from a performance shop that does 0-60 in 10.9 seconds. Are they mad?

That’s still a shortage, regardless of the cause.

Nice Price: That would go for a bit more where I live, even without the hardtop. The hardtop alone if worth a few thousand.

They are heavy. I pulled one with a 2195lbs car on it this past weekend with my 2018 Tacoma. It did it, but it certainly would have been nice to have a bigger truck. I must have missed the part that they were using a u-haul trailer. It also wasn’t clear if they were hauling both kei cars at the same time, or picking

It’s amazing how quickly things add up. This isn’t an issue unique to getting 55 year old cars running.

I get that the cars don’t weight much, but how much does the trailer weigh and how long is it?

Yeah, I’d imagine that means higher price and lower range. The ID4 doesn’t have enough range as it is. The new Sienna hybrid can go 650 miles on a tank. If they make a PHEV version that would allow 95% of driving to be done as an EV.

This is the only EV on the horizon that I might be able to afford that I’m remotely interested in. I’m guessing it’ll either be too expensive, not have the charging times I’d want, or not have the range I’d want. Here’s to hoping Toyota does a PHEV Sienna Prime.

They have done it for private party sales and there has been outrage.
