Why does Jalopnik always ignore that widening highways allows more cars to move on the highway? We could eliminate traffic by eliminating all transportation, but that’s just as dumb as saying widening roads doesn’t eliminate traffic. Roads are a necessity. What’s not to like?

By it’s nature, it almost necessitates being a 3rd vehicle in household.

It seems that most people are getting rid of them because they realized they aren’t actually using it like they thought they would. 

It’s interesting that most of the union shop plants make shitty cars whereas the good cars sane people actually want are coming from non-union plants. There are some exceptions, but it seems that that additional labor cost is being made up elsewhere. 

Is there any semblance of quality control?

The statement wasn’t if they could operate 24/7, its if operating 24/7 would help the catch up. I completely understand not having staffing.
