Simple answer: because when it gets brought up in these contexts it’s derailing the discussion from cop on civilian crime to civilian on civilian crime.

Black people talk about crime within their own communities constantly. You don’t hear about it because it’s a problem that doesn’t effect or involve you, and that you only care about when you need a false equivalency to shutdown discussions about police brutality and racism.

Most tracking services place the cost of living index of Tokyo about the same as NYC. Although housing is usually cheaper in Tokyo but other costs such as groceries are higher that balance it all out. So I guess imagine working in midtown and commuting in from Jamaica for that salary and trying to make ends meet.

Not sure what the big deal is. I’ve been catching Emma asleep for nearly a year now.

Yeah, like all those straights who insist on throwing their straightness in people’s faces like it ain’t no thing.

but it is a differing from normal human sexuality, which was evolved for the purposes of reproduction, i.e. male/female.

it is differing from what normal human sexuality should be.

I agree with everything you’ve said here. I’m really just commenting to ask if you’ve read A Strong and Sudden Thaw by R W Day or Liesmith by Alys Franklin? Two of my favourites - the first is queer speculative fiction, the second urban fantasy with touches of horror and a large brush stroke of mythology and geekery.

“If I was told to be myself in a commentator role that clearly had more of a PG-13 sort of setting, I’m not gonna be cursing. I can still be myself, though. I’ll just omit anything that comes to mind that’s clearly not appropriate for the context...

Supernatural’s treatment of female characters as props, fuck holes, and “reasons to make Sam and Dean cry” has been a huge detriment to the series... I thought they were going in a different direction when they added Charly to the cast, but I see they’ve just thrown her character away in favor of keeping the focus on

huh, and I just thought it was the terrible global warming jokes from the comments that made the days seem longer.
