This whole discourse is really three or four issues conflated.

Well Artstation is full of portfolio work from high end products like film and games owned by companies like Disney and Warner Bros and Sony etc. So it won’t be long before it starts churning out stuff that’s going to get the big and powerful corporations riled up.

People thinking they are artists because they had a prompt idea are as ridiculous as people defending capitalistic pillars of property.

Yeah hands are tough and I’ve seen them drawn badly before, but like, I feel like a human artist would have recognized that the fingernail goes on the end of the finger and not halfway along. Like it’s a different degree of wrong.

The problem is that as people become more and more dependent on “factory made” goods, actual craft and know-how is often lost. We saw this with the advent of industrialized goods. I’ve noticed lately that with these sorts of posts, cryptobros no longer fall over themselves to post a thesis in the comments describing how wrong we all are about cryptocurrency.

I think people are missing the point about the lawsuit. It’s not about people following the advice of a random celebrity they trusted. It’s about them finding out that the random celebrity was a paid shill for the product and not genuinely recommending the product.
