Now we know! Phew!
Eh. I prefer the Miata on track. But the Tesla isn’t numb. They are two different experiences. I enjoy both.
But I can drive a manual. I track my Miata all summer. I have every appreciation for driving skill and car character. I still think it’s a hoot to get my insides squeezed by g-forces. I like it on a 1kcc sportbike and I like it just as much, albeit differently, in the Tesla. Sure the car is managing wheelspin and…
I love how acceleration has become a ‘trick’. I’ve spent decades and untold dollars in the pursuit of going faster, as I’m sure many enthusiasts have, and acceleration was kinda the goal. Now these cars show up that will blow the doors off 95% of anything they might come across at a stoplight and suddenly that…
The Miata ND “infotainment” is a dumpster fire. Apparently this is remedied or improved for ‘24+ but the ND1 and ND2 are just ick. It’s slow, unintuitive, ugly, and just not worth the effort. Most days I just leave the screen off and either let Spotify play what it wants or I listen to the wind.
Do you align yourself with all the ideologies of the CEO of the manufacturer of your daily driver? Musk is trash, but Tesla has done a tremendous amount to bring EVs to the masses despite him. Elon is doing a fine job of destroying himself, which is great, but Tesla should survive it. I’m looking forward to that day.…
Musk is a disaster and I’d love to see him become unaffiliated with Tesla and SpaceX.
Only two? Tough choice..
I love my Model 3 Performance. I’ve been waiting for the specs on the refresh of the Performance model and I’ve said I’ll trade up if the performance boost is right. I was so close to spending $90k on an S plaid but the car is just so big and there’s a lot to be had (cars and otherwise) with that kind of money. If…
Thank you! It’s a thing I enjoy doing.
No way. How could this be.
Funny enough, my ND and the Tesla both wear PS4S for the summer. The Miata gets garaged for the salt season though. I LOVE those white wheels.
Plus it’s a great excuse to get winter wheels!
I gotta say, at the risk of the backlash, the Tesla Model 3 Performance currently in my driveway is the best winter vehicle I’ve ever owned, by a wide margin. Let me explain. The traction control has always been outstanding, both in the rain and on the track, the latter able to be dialed in incrementally in Track…
Noooooo! I like these! There was one around the end of December that said something like “DUI Automatic Naughty List” which was a fun way to get the message across. I’ve seen other clever ones that make me smile and I share them with friends. While I’m taking a picture out the passenger window as I fly by at 95 mph…
I gotta say, that 3.5 Ecoboost is my favorite Ford engine, and my favorite pickup engine so far. With an intake, exhaust, and tune, it’s an absolute monster. If Ford would let me have the options I want in an extended cab/6' bed F-150, I’d buy it today. Right now.
I’ve had the 3.5 EB, the 2.7 EB and the 7.3 gasser. I’ve driven the 5.0. The 3.5 was, by far and away, the most fun. In fact, it’s the most fun I’ve ever had in a pickup. I miss that truck in the worst way. The 7.3 was surprisingly underwhelming, definitely a brute for doing truck things but not much of a tire-melter.
I see an average total range of about 275 miles out of my Model 3 Performance. The rated range is 315 miles. I can get 315 miles out of a battery but I have to drive very conservatively. Range on the track is around 100 miles alternating between max throttle and max brake. The lowest I’ve seen on the road is probably…
