I’m doing what I’ve come to refer to as the ‘Ten Year Overhaul” on my 2012 Wrangler. It started out of necessity with a bad transmission input shaft bearing and has grown into a winter-long monstrosity of a project. It’s the epitome of ‘let me hit that while I’m in there’ mentality.

This looks a nightmare. I recently had a stuck control arm bolt on my JK that I thought was bad, and I had a free nut and just needed to pull the axle shaft to get access to both sides. I ended up using a ball joint press tool and a sledgehammer to get the bolt out.
