As someone who owns one and would happily own both... Ford’s mirrors-stay-on-the-vehicle is the right answer. For all the reasons listed. I think Jeep made a HUGE mistake there with the JL.

This guy has a grenade on his shelves. And an RC heli canopy. And the rest of the heli up to the right. And a longboard leaning on the wall behind him. That’s pretty cool
As a person with a fleet of RC vehicles, this is a familiar sound. Hearing it in the context of a full size performance vehicle makes me giggle. It’s been a long time now that nitro RC cars gave up the mainstream to electrics which are better in.. every way except the smell. They are unholy fast and I can’t wait till…
There were 3 more tires inside ;)
I love the consistent knee-jerk reaction to everything offroad of “oH ThAt’Ll LoOk GrEaT paRkEd aT tHe MalL”. Some people use the stuff. I have TWO racks for my JK (gasp!), one for the hard top and one for no top. I use them when I need to fit extra stuff or if I’m carrying things I don’t want in the Jeep. We’re all…
I don’t get that. It rides fine. Its on a long arm setup with 37s and I could drive it all day long. I also have a ‘15 GTI, a ‘20 F350 and a ‘20 Miata that I drive regularly and I still can’t say the Jeep has a lousy ride. It’s a delight to drive. I’m sure the Bronco will have a “nicer ride” with the IFS but it’s…
It just seems right. It’s not like I’m squeezed in or bumping my knees on the dash. I think I generally like to sit close anyway, just as a personal preference.
Wow, I’m sorry! Color me corrected! It was more about the feature combo than the price? And it’s all in good fun anyway, they are both awesome.
Neat. I’d pay 40k today ;)
LOL I’m short leave me alone!! I have to reach the pedals!
Maybe the JL. Maybe it’s been 8 years. I bought this in 2012 for 35,500
I also much prefer the clutch off road compared to a torque converter. I can feel exactly what’s happening when I’m engaging the clutch in the gear I’ve selected whereas with the auto you just kinda push the gas and wait for something to happen. Especially with the super low crawl ratios, stalling really isn’t a…
What is this, like public Jalopnik? Looks like fun!
It’s a Club with the Brembo/BBS/Recaro package. It’s sublime. I put almost 700 miles on it in the last 9 days and I’m very pleased with this decision.
I just bought a 2020 Miata. Mazda is offering 0%. I got the car $2k under invoice, it’s something I have no plans to ever sell and I get to take my sweet time paying it off. I have the full cash amount for the car set aside in an account that earns a little interest and I’ll just draw from that. As I have no plans to…
You quoted the reference. “It’s disappointing to be so close (to a viable Wrangler pickup) and know nothing (Wrangler pickup) enthusiast oriented will ever come to production.”
