Imperialism? That is a real stretch. Now this is real Imperialism:

At least we let the world press come in and report on it

That is just mind boggling. I thought the whole point of WRC was to have race cars blasting by crowds along narrow courses.

You have a point. There was a time when cars were simple enough that the difference in material costs gave small cars a cost advantage. Today the cars are complex enough that the complexity is the cost driver, and the material costs are relatively insignificant.

LOL! the old tired ‘50 cent’. How predictrable. Sure sign that you have no arguments.

Google-translate gibberish. Exactly what I expected from somebody who ran out of arguments.

When you sell the car, shouldn’t there be an option to wipe that history clean? The next owner or the Subaru dealer doesn’t need to know your location  history.

If you search for ‘My F150 sucks’ you’ll probably see pages and pages of people whining about the Ford trucks falling apart. If you search for ‘Tesla quality issues’ likewise you’ll see pages of people complaining about their Tesla having to be repaired over and over again. It is all confirmation bias.

On the contrary- I think they DID learn from the Harley Davidson era tariffs. Those tariffs saved Harley and enabled Harley to dominate the whole motorcycle industry for a good 20 years. So American politicians learned the lesson that ‘tariffs work’ and ‘protectionism works’. They don’t care about the fact that HD was

What slave labor are you talking about? Which auto factory uses slave labor? All I ever see is allegations of slave labor. Nobody has ever provided proof of slave labor.

No mention of the economic protectionism (50%+ tariffs on auto imports)

You can’t just sell a cheap car on the selling point that it’s cheap. It’s got to have some identity other than ‘cheap’. They need to have a Yaris GT to sex it up and give it some identity.

Haha! I had a Wolfsburg edition Rabbit Cabrio at one point. It had white interior, exterior, top and wheels. I called it the sorority girl edition.

The odd thing is, Charlottesville VA is NOT a long way from DC. Unless he meant demographically.

if he’d killed someone other than a fire chief

The latest economic theory from the Right, is that foreign countries will deflate their currencies to offset the tariffs. So there would be no increased cost to American consumers. Now there would certainly be costs to American exporters. Especially Agricultural exports, which would be priced out of the global

That would account for a small part of the inflation. The main issues were first the supply chain disruption, and then after that the Russian War. This is why inflation affected the EU, Canada and US. If it was just a matter of domestic policies inflation would just affect the US.

That looks seriously fun. They do have to solve the ball popping out of the socket problem though.

Yeah. But we re talking specifically about cheap used cars, not just average used cars.

The Japanese car makers stupidly kept a lot of good stuff back home in their domestic market. But this particular V8 engined GS was not one of them.
