Even a modern car needs oil change roughly every 10k miles. Don’t forget you need to change the fuel filter every 60k or so.
Why do we need to take a long hard look at Chinese car imports? Are you aware the GM has been selling more cars in China than in the US for the last dozen+ years? Are you aware that Tesla produces the majority of their global output, from their China factory? Are you telling me that it’s fine and dandy that our…
To be sure, the Domestic Big 3 has indeed lost a ton of market share since the mid 60's. So imports definitely had a role in that. But we consumers definitely benefited from more choices and more competition. A closed off market is bad for everyone.
I happen to think this is a free country and consumers should have the choice to buy whatever they want to buy. If you don’t want to buy BYD cars- don’t. That is the idea of the free market.
It would be dumb even if you paid MSRP.
Ipso Facto. QED.
Not necessarily idiots, but let’s just say a very large overlap in the Venn diagram.
Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300. It’s a continuum of idiots.
Agreed. I like everything about the wagon except the matt paint.
The $7500 rebate was definitely income restricted. There was also a $1000 credit that is not income restricted.
Hold on- they lost contact with the rocket. But where did it go? Where did it crash land?
This is the worst type of bureaucratic silliness.
Ford Cortina Mk1:
Bring BYD here and watch the prices drop like a rock.
The oil changes, air filters, fuel filter, radiator coolant, and brake pads, etc. all add up.
The body work being more expensive, is probably mostly a Tesla/Rivian/Lucid thing. I doubt a F150 Lightning or Mustang Mach E is any harder to fix than any other car.
Easy to open by accident, and yet not particularly obvious when you are in an emergency. They should just have a regular looking door latch in addition to the electric button.
Yeah. The door latch is not anything that ever needed electrifying. And if you DO electrifying the doot latch, the mechanical back up should still work if you yank or push on the same buttons hard enough. Just like your mechanical steering still works if the power booster fails- you just have to use more force.
Stock buybacks ARE inherently bad though. It’s like setting money on fire.
