Lol, I get crap for driving a mid-size pickup to my engineering job.

It is not good for vehicle rust either though.
Locally in the red River valley of MN/ND I don’t know a grower (name given by American Crystal to the co-op owners (farmers or legacy shareholders)) that raises beets under irrigation.
Heard the story of two individuals decided to steal a coil of steel bound for bobcat MFG in gwinner, ND. They were 50 miles east in another town where the train stopped.
If you use an off-road vehicle that you plated for on-road, and get caught with off-highway only diesel in it... yeah I wouldn’t want that fine. In vehicles they can go all the way back and issue the fine since new (all the miles you drove it). Red dye also stays in the tank for several fill ups.
You would very very likely need to stiffen up the chassis. I would almost guarantee without a canopy (not called ROPS for legal reasons) that the chassis would sag out. As much as Kawi likes to claim they are the only ones to stress the canopy as part of the chassis. All OEMS stress the canopy during normal use of the…
I grew up in ND. Our biggest risk with a 75 mph speed limit is Canadian semis driving 100 km/h (62 mph) then they pass one another. Rather annoying.
Different application of row/crop shields on self propelled sprayers. For 15+ years row crop sprayers have had these deflectors to push the crop out of the way to avoid the extra damage to the crop.
I bought a high trim colorado (ZR2). Was surprised it had fake leather seats... Didn’t want the dealer optioned Nav system either. Super glad there isn’t a stupid sunroof in the pickup.
With major infrastructure that isn’t that capable across the whole US. Diesel electric is super easy to do compared to having hanging wires.
Sold as off-road only, but they do know that in many states their consumer can make them road legal. Thus you have a road legal vehicle that sells for much less than a Jeep and roughly resembles the outline of a Jeep.
What is the loaded up range? I take a 2600 mile road trip yearly. I average a bad 10-13 mpg in my Colorado gasser over those miles. Every 200-260 miles roughly I have to fuel up. That would take another half a day to travel this remote route with an electric pickup if it got the same or worse range towing.
I buy what I can use. I don’t see this as that useful. Range empty is good. Where is the range at max tow or max payload? The wedge with covered box from factory... that is a no go for me. I would prefer a removable tonneau system as they freeze up in the northern plains in winter. Lower box sides would have also been…
the point where the planes meet is very inefficient in aero. They needed to add some fillets or transitions. A flat roof and lower sides to the box would be my preference. Current pickup boxes have really high box sides, and they keep getting taller. It is super hard to get things over the side of the box.
Sides of the bed are way to high for me. I own a ‘17 Colorado ZR2, and likely will be buying a 3/4 ton in the next 2-3 years. I grew up in 3/4 and 1 ton pickups, and still work out of them when I help dad on the farm.
Maybe that was a request or was headed to get different tires fitted... With a MFG car there are so many possibilities. Heck when you test in SxSs so many things can go wrong even on the right setup die to terrain. I have had some good luck but heard of those running through the fence or flipping during normal…
Oh how I don’t miss not being in or near a city. 30 miles is 25-30 minutes in the middle of nowhere.
I remember that day. I luckily worked out of New Hudson and lived in northern Novi so it wasn’t bad like further East into the city.
Is 60k/year near starting or after time? That is my curiosity as I don’t know the wage structure.
A business should make a profit. I don’t know how expensive it is to operate in the auto industry, but if a company makes over a billion in profit we should chastise them.
