I honestly do not understand how one could go without saying “the” before the freeway number though. I always say, “Take the I5 down and turn on the 210 East” for example and it would not sound right if I said things without the “the” But I guess it is just me

My wife basically refused to mention freeway names when she visited TN since she couldn’t drop the “the”. People out there are weird about it if you say it wrong whereas no one in CA could give a damn if someone doesn’t use “the”.

Also, it’s just the right way to say it. The worst are people who not only drop the ‘the’ but also insist on putting the ‘I’ in front of interstate names,. “I’m going to take I-95 home.” No; you’re going to burn in a special sort of hell made especially for you people.

I’m in New Orleans, we say “the I-10" or “the 610" too. Is it possible the Northeast corridor is doing it wrong (I-95), not the rest of the country??

I know Pete Rose got his knob polished for sliding into home needlessly wrecking a guy’s career during that one All-Star game . . .

Yes, but it’s his own fault for responding. Really its the shittalk he mushroomed.

Meanwhile, at a more prepared convenience store in Philly...

Every time his name comes up, I’m terrified that I’m the only person who has ever made this connection

Well, if you take the case to a Jury trial I think he might get 10-15 years in football jail but he may get off with nothing. On the other hand, if you offer him a plea I bet he’d take 7-9.

One of the things I really like about Romo in the booth is that he says what he’s thinking. I feel like if he’d been calling the game, you’d have gotten, “Now, Al, c’mon. HOW IS THAT ANYTHING OTHER THAN A CATCH?” And he would have been right.

I also liked Weird Loners. You are not alone.

We were all born again after that dunk.

Let’s just breakdown what we’re working with here.

Nasser is an unimaginable monster, but the idea that gymnastics is full of a bunch of fucked up, abusive behavior is a surprise? I thought it was just understood to be the case.

Yes, this is correct

Yeah, that surprised me that they didn’t quote Hart of Dixie specifically when they were listing what he’s an alum of, especially as it’s on the same network (he was a great Mayor).

I really liked Cress Williams on Hart of Dixie and was excited to see him get this role. Encouraging sounding start and hope it does well.

Hand down, the best football announcer ever.

He looks like Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin ate one of those three course meal gums from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Maybe it’s just me, but I see several design cues from existing cars here. It looks great, but I definitely see contributions from other designs throughout this effort. That’s how it is with most design concepts anyway.......
