You do know that it’s possible to have hard conversations with your kids, and still have horrible shit happen, right? And that sometime, no matter how hard you try, violence will find a way into their lives? Children and adolescents lack the same agency that adults have. My point wasn’t that there was ever a point in human history where children weren’t victims of sexual violence. My point was that trying to make those victims feel worse by blaming them for the actions of sexual predators is disgusting.
