Yeah, I drive a CX-5 GT and this is a hard pass. Around here, that’s not just an extra upfront cost... it also means I have to pay more in fuel. I love the new 3 and 6, not to mention I’m a card carrying member of the “Miata is Always the Answer” club, but this is nuts. When I got to trade in my current CX-5, the

I’m a huge Mazda fan, but this makes no sense. The fuel economy figures aren’t great (especially considering that new Highlander hybrid) and the price is absurd. You’re about $4k away from a fully loaded CX-9. CP.

Do I . . . do I want to buy a Lincoln? Because this thing looks 10x better than its competitors. And the new Continental is so goddamn legit. What is happening to the world? What is happening to me? These look like ideal commuter and road-trip cars!

This. Makes me rage.

Yes, absolutely. In most cases, they can overpower a dimmed rear-view mirror, and if they reflect back through your side mirrors? Super bad times. If I try to courteously make it easy/convenient to pass, a lot of times they just double down on the tailgating for whatever reason.

Some regulation/enforcement (yeah right) on aftermarket stuff would be very helpful as well. The amount of people driving around with extra bright LED headlights or light bars or BOTH ON at the SAME TIME is getting out of hand.. at least where I am in NC

The 2.5 turbo CX5 drives extremely well too. Cross shopped one vs a Honda CRV. The CRV is bigger, but the Mazda drives a ton better.

I don’t know what the market case is for the diesel anymore now that they’re offering the turbo 2.5 in the CX-5. Rated 27/31 mpg with over 300 ft-lbs of torque, and more horsepower than their 2.2D could ever muster.

Yeah, I love that a car manufacturer is making another performance version of one of their cars but it’s actually cheaper than their standard performance versions, literally what people complain there isn’t enough of, and so many people are trying to shit on it.

Ah, the jalopnik cycle.

Fine, its a good automatic that should have an available 6sp manual. Mazda makes amazing manuals and pretty soon, Miata will be the only one with it.

Give me one with a manual transmission & crank windows for $20k! *rabble rabble*

I can confirm that, as torque-converter automatics go, Mazda’s is one of the good ones. Particularly because their manu-matic shift pattern is in the correct directions.

I got to sit in the new 3 the other day. The interior really is that nice and based on the track records of the 2 brands, your maintenance will be much less often and cheaper with the Mazda (if you even care about things like that).

It’s a 6-speed sky-active with lock up torque converter in every gear. It shifts quick and is more efficient that your old slush box. Best of all, if you want to give up on economy, Mazda’s “Sport” mode really is sporty. It forces the transmission to hold lower gear MUCH more than you’d expect. Keeps the revs in the

Same. Though I really want the sedan, not the hatch.   I was really looking forward to the 2019 sedan ... but of course, no 6 speed.    Boo.

I would actually buy this, if it were offered with a 6 speed manual. I need something smaller than a 3 series for my garage, more practical than an M240I, more reliable than a Golf R, and preferably with AWD for chicago winters. I also love the new Mazda design language

Hopefully they don’t go “Civic Type-R” hyper in the styling department

Disagree. This is a car that makes most colors look good.
