The styling looks kind of nice on the SUV. They are probably not worried about marketing if they only want to sell 100 cars a month. I bet their marketing is focused on first/second generation Chinese-Americans who will be less skeptical of a Chinese manufacturer.

They should do the spine batteries down the middle and some in the engine bay/trunk. Would be a good case for hub motors - Elaphe M700s are 100HP each so they could do real wheel drive 200HP and not sacrifice the size of the car.

The 3rd party charging network is starting to look good here in CA now, so it’s running about 5-8 years behind Tesla as far as I can tell. Still, EVs are most convenient to those who have somewhere they can install a high voltage at home charger,  even in CA.

It cost $338,550,995 adjusted for inflation to build the thing in the first place, and it's going to cost almost that much to restore it. Seems like a waste.

I don’t work there either, but clearly there’s no way you’re going to believe that. As for the truck they’re literally doing rides today with their beta builds - you can see for yourself.

He accused me of being a company shill. I’ve been all over gawker just as long as anyone and he can fuck right off.

Nonsense - I don’t work there. They only have a few hundred employees, and I’m not even defending the company in the post. Their management has been laughably incompetent, as demonstrated by their delayed schedule, shittastic race planning, and hemorrhaging money. But that doesn’t mean that’s the only thing to talk

Those statements were made June 15th during a live interview with the Automotive Press Association, and the clarification was made the next day. This sale was four months ago. They’re completely unrelated.

I’ve had my kinja account since 2013 and have been reading for well over a decade - I’ve been on here as long as you have.

I’m annoyed at Erik’s coverage of LMC in particular. Erik doesn’t cover LMC like he covers other companies - I went through Erik’s article history, and these are the posts he has made about LMC:

If you want to report on Lordstown why not go there and test drive their beta builds which are out all week for that purpose? Then you can tell us how much you hate the truck in addition to the company.

This isn’t even news - it’s blatant click-bait. These transactions are publicly available on the Lordstown site, and have been for months. This is the Richard Schmidt one:

I feel like Tesla is trying to buck the industry refresh/redesign cycle on the asthetic components of their cars and it’s kind of a risky move. The auto industry didn’t do model refresh and redesigns in a vacuum - consumers like having something that looks modern and new. Tesla can't sell the same looking model S and

Practically every other article for weeks has been sucking ford’s dick, what credibility do they still have to lose?

This. These articles pop up literally once every 3 months because Tesla basically only makes three deliveries to Norway each year, and it’s not enough for demand. You can search and find the exact same article for basically every major EV, including the Etron, the Polestar, and the id3. I guess as long as we all click

Re: Lordstown, they were always planning on spending the vast majority of that this year (plan was 200 million cash on hand at end of year) on retooling and production runup. Reducing their estimate by 1200 cars reduces incoming cash by 62 million, and they had to in-house frames (increased R&D) and purchase their

Ford and other manufacturers have a long history of making 1 or so base model per region so dealers can advertise but never sell any. Available doesn’t mean you’re going to get it any more than you’re going to get the $8k base Versa that always makes the billboards but doesn't seem to actually exist.

LOL they’re playing the Tesla game with the cheapo option that nobody buys. Doesn’t even have an image on the Ford site, just a “coming soon” picture, while the rest are ready to go. $10 says they pull a Tesla and make the high end models only for the first 2 years.

As someone who went from a Mercedes to a Kia, Kia interiors just aren’t as luxurious as a Mercedes, even while having more features. Genesis interiors on the other hand are better (imo) than the entry (CLA/C/E) Mercedes interior.

I mean the sad thing is at some point it doesn't matter - people who don't watch or give a crap about F1 know his name now and click articles to see his latest fuck up. Including me.  I don't know jack about F1 but I keep clicking articles about this shit driver lol
