Starred for “bomb diggity.” And your good take.

This isn’t necessarily about them doing the bare minimum for the “average” van’s daily use. This is about them not having to raise the cargo floor to accommodate a huge battery and changing the interior dimensions - which they pointed out at-length in their release. This would immediately be a deal-breaker for

I think you mean that N-Line is mostly body kits. Full N stuff is much different mechanically. And why doesn’t Veloster N count as a performance car? Because it’s not RWD? The Veloster N is twice the car the old Genesis Coupe tractor was.

Namyang (design) & Nurburgring (development) & also supposed to look like a chicane

Oof I was going to come commenting back to laugh about you thinking that was unintentional but I’ve been beaten to it, many times. I’m sure you’re right though - super unintentional.

I assume she was referring to when the black truck literally rams the white SUV. It’s not that far of a stretch.

Neither of which scratch the hot-hatch itch. Ah well, I’m sure they’ll both be decent to drive and the Elantra does, admittedly, look really good. I can’t say the same for the Kona.

Okay, this makes me feel much better. I have a 998 with a 1275 head so it’s isn’t as slow as it could be, but it ain’t fast.

They’d probably only need to sell a few thousand a year to have it make financial sense. And when you’re the only act in town, that should be do-able. Plus these full-on N models lend more “cred” to the N-Line stuff coming to the bread-and-butter models so that alone could be enough of a business case.

I have one as well. Yours must be much quicker than mine, unless by motorcycle you mean scooter.

Totally true. But those who bought a Fiesta (especially ST) are likely to be shopping in the same area and likely are interested in anything but an SUV (barring life-stage changes). Also, a hot Accent is about the only Hyundai model that I do imagine. All I’m saying is that there is still a demand for fun, small cars

Perfect timing for this to come to N. America. With FiST leases expiring everyone is going to need something to fill the void. This looks great and if the other N models are anything to go off, will drive fantastically too.

Remember that those 6cu.ft. are stuck up against the headliner though. As someone mentioned earlier, taller cargo areas aren’t always very useful.

I’m sure that can’t be true. An ICE engine would hurt the CoG and decimate the torque response. Not to mention that this thing is meant to dominate Pikes Peak (which it did) and at altitude ICE engines can’t breathe. Some tracks, it might be better off but on a normal circuit this thing should (and does) put the ICE

Yep, I’ve seen both Around and Down a few times through. I’m not disputing that they lean on the support crew or that other people can do it without a crew. Or that you’ve crossed the Mojave... that’s all great. I’m saying the show isn’t about them being these hardcore outdoorsmen and roughing it. They are just on a

Outback has cooled seats too, but yes not as much room and Koreans do a great job with being feature-packed. Subaru’s CVTs I’d argue are really good and the high-torque ones on the 2.4T models are pretty capable and reliable (braces self for flood of “mine broke after 2 weeks” anecdotes).

The beauty of the Outback is that it’s still low enough to easily put stuff on the roof and yet has more ground clearance than this thing’s X-Line (8.7" vs. 8.4"). Unless you’re standing up inside the car, the Outback is still hard to beat in this soft-roading segment. No 3rd row though if that matters (it probably

What’s phony? They’re not claiming it’s some unaided 2-wheel exploration. It’s a long trip on bikes with a special friend (as you strangely put it). Having a camera/support crew doesn’t take away from anything. Imagine the show you’d have without the film crew coming along? Oh, right.

The Santa Cruz is based on the Tucson.

But can your wife’s Pilot do a donut? No. Burnout? Nah. Anything cool at all? Nope. There is nothing interesting about accelerating to highway speeds. You are (like so many before you) completely missing the point of the 86/BRZ. It’s not a fast car. It’s a fun car.
