This is not “crying wolf.” I understand what you’re getting at in terms of relative harms, but thinking along these lines and then telling people they can only call out the worst possible offensive behavior is a problem.

Oh so true. That’s a whole different story in itself. You are not a boss, a #girlboss or a CEO if you work at your kitchen table 20 minutes a day in your PJs. Not putting down whatcha doing. You do you. But you aren’t a boss. A boss has to be a boss of some one.

I am so tired of the Girlboss term. As a business owner myself I hate to be described that way. First of all we are women, and second of all I’d like to be a boss without the added descriptor. I know some women business owners wear it as a badge of honor but I do not.

My issue with that article and other thinkpieces on Trump supporters is they in essence treat the subjects with kid gloves. The racism, misogyny and overall horribleness gets overlooked as economic anxiety. They have voted GOP and their policies for years, get screwed then want to crash th country for all of us.

He knows these people. He grew up with them. They’re his family. He loves them or likes them. He maybe even respects them. So, he’s getting involved in overanalyzing instead of seeing the big picture.

Being the only source of joy in someone’s life is a lot of pressure.... It could work out just fine though, people mature and rethink their priorities and whatnot.

Don’t do it. For reals. DO NOT DO IT.

While it’s possible, people rarely change. If you go into it, go into it with your eyes open. But a phrase like “only source of real joy in his life” seems like a really big red flag to me.
