I wasn’t taking umbrage at the fact he said that the gunman was “apprehended safely” getting shot/shot at is not being safely apprehended. And active shooter situations are not a this outcome or that outcome only. The only goal in that situation is stop the threat as quickly and safely as possible.

That’s a whole other argument that you’re not entirely wrong on. Are people who identify as Christian perfect? Of course not and a lot of them suck balls while hiding behind the shroud of being a Christian. I totally get that. But let’s not drag someone just for offering thought and prayers.

Of course it is. Why wouldn’t it be fine for people of a shared faith to offer comfort in prayer as every religion does. If you don’t believe in prayer (I’m not completely sure I do either) that’s fine, but don’t ridicule those who do. It just makes you look like a spiteful asshole.

So yes, both the victims and the people giving thought and prayers can both take some comfort no matter how small knowing that others are trying to help them through their pain and grief.
