Kids that cause DDOS do not get hired by security firms. That privilege is kept for people who have actual real world IT skills. People in the business know what it takes to cause a DDOS attack and therefore this hiring never happens.

it's also true that the speed of recovery is much faster for the ones that have invested resources into preparing for attacks like this.
