For some reason Amber loves shitting on Massachusetts / Boston. Did it last week too.

That is not correct. Real wages (which compensates for inflation) has gone up since then. I think even for low-income workers (but barely).
Look I get it, your from New York and your sports teams haven’t won anything recently despite having like twice the number of teams as Massachusetts (esp when you include New Jersey Jets and Giants). So I can see why you need to lash out at Boston. But really there is no difference between either the roads or drivers…
Yeah. I think the problem was that Ford was completely wrong about how popular these would be at first. So they priced them accordingly. With such high demand, they would be foolish not to charge more. I like the Lobo...but probably out of my price range.
Not a popular take probably, but I love how these look. One of my favorite car designs of the 21st century. Plus good power, RWD, decent reliability. Always thought about trying to get one of these, but could never really find one in decent shape in my area. NP for me all day.
$27,890 in today’s money is like $17,200 in 2005 money. I use 2005 because that is when I had my first real job and I needed an affordable car and was looking to buy new. $17,200 in 2005 would buy you things like a Scion Tc (that’s what I bought), Nissan Sentra SE-R, a loaded Honda Civic* and...a Ford Ranger. The MSRP…
Of course. I understand they are similar, but there is a fundamental difference between using sound and radio waves. And then lidar is an even different beast.
These sensors survey the road using sound waves
“after studying this for a year, we decided that this would be difficult as a business.”
The burning of fuel is irrelevant as the minimum mass of the car is without fuel. I believe they make them drain it at the end before weighing.
Yes. As I say packaging is a problem, but if designed from the outset to accommodate them it is less of an issue. But article says complexity/ repairs. I don’t think that is really an issue.
I stand corrected about Hyundai. Always assumed it was the power-split planetary setup like Toyota / Ford. Of course Toyota actually uses the sandwich method elsewhere (Hybrid MAX power trains).
Good info on the patents...I was meaning to look that up. I know they traded patents (or something like that) with Ford awhile back and that is why Ford was able to use the same scheme. I was wondering if they had released them, because Hyundai uses the same type of hybrid-drive and I can’t imagine them doing Hyundai…
The ones that haunt me are the Dan Wheldon, Justin Wilson and 24 Hours of LeMans Aston Martin driver (I forget his name) crashes. All within a few years of each other. Those 3 almost put me off from racing because it made me question whether I was essentially watching a blood-sport.
While Jalopnik just had an article today about how well Hyundai/Kia are doing because of their hybrids/plug-ins, I will reluctantly agree with you. Though I am not sure how that relates to my point. It isn’t Toyota / Hyundai’s fault everyone else misread the market.
IMO there are many problems with this article (the InsideEV one). Which is fine I guess because they are obviously an EV publication.
I think the author was making a skateboarding reference, where a ‘grind’ is when you slide the trucks of your skateboard on some surface such as a rail. At least that is what I remember from when I was into that sort of stuff.
Reverse: I have conflicting feelings about Lance Armstrong. On the one hand, everyone else at that time was doping so I can understand why he would. But on the other hand, he went way overboard with it and basically required that his teammates also dope.
“lol”…really. Brown had a great finals…his turned up his defense and his offense was good as always, but Tatum is the better player. Just look at the statistics. You can look at it for the season or for the playoffs, and Tatums are all much better. I just looked at them again and it’s actually not as close as I…
I won’t disagree with you here actually. Though I would extend this to most racing, even beyond F1. Racing is very unique in so many ways. Still there are people in racing who were/are successful that were class acts. Because I just watched it this morning, Scott Dixon leaps to mind. Jenson Button seemed to be decent.
