But that’s not how these things work. When you look at in a specific scenario, your are correct that it is not that much of a difference. But anytime you are talking about money, it will generally, across the whole economy make a difference. Yes even for cars.

Can confirm. Though for me it’s Lowe’s. Helps that it is like 5 minutes from my house. Though I did load my Mustang up with pavers for a small walkway (2 trips) rather than rent the truck.

Fair points. Though there are electric cars that aren’t built by Musk. An even more ethical choice there.

Dude what...you know when Irish, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese etc. immigrants came here there were basically no immigration laws. It was impossible for them to be here illegally. I guarantee you there were plenty of people who would have loved to make it illegal in the early 19th century. So your comparison is like

One place mechanical connections would be helpful is trying to egress the car. If you read the article it sounds like they had trouble escaping the fireball.

But only 60% of our (the US) electricity generation comes from non-renewable fossil fuels.

The thing about the Subaru is how well it’s packaged. Not sure if the numbers back me up, but it feels like a bigger car inside, especially compared to the Mazda.

From window switches, window motors, brake calipers, body panels, interior trim pieces, it’s all pretty easy to find.

Other laurels to rest on are basically better numbers post Covid than all the other G7 countries except Canada…fuck you Trudeau (kidding). Inflation, GDP, unemployment, etc. I think Japan had lower inflation but poorer other numbers if I am not mistaken.

I posted elsewhere that I was having trouble finding the more granular data, which you obviously found. And you are certainly right. But as for car debt dragging down the overall economy, it is just not gonna happen. It has never been, and likely never will be, something that economists worry about. Most other debts

We need to bully them into bringing back Blazing Orange Pearl or some other kickass color. Red, black, white and grey...boring. WTF happened to blue? At least bring that back.

While this is true (both minimum wage and not voting for a narcissistic, dictator wannabe, man baby), real wages have actually increased recently. That is wages adjusted for inflation.

I beg people to please look this up...the amount of household debt is historically low right now...

This is one reason that auto loan debt will never play a big role in the economic health of the county...it is just so easy to sell the car. It is a very liquid asset. Vs say a house which is hard to sell (also humans need housing to survive). And then with medical debt or student loan debt there is nothing to

This can’t be good for the economy at all

Eff you Drew (just kidding) this is my lane here at Jalopnik. You are of course 100% correct. See my individual post on household debt for a better takedown of this nonsense.

I dunno...to me MSRP is almost irrelevant with the dealership model. The market is the market. Generally you are always going to have to pay what the market dictates. Whether that is lower than MSRP through dealer discounts or higher through markups, the real price ends up getting hidden a lot (most?) of the time.

Owned. Yeah it was a hanging curve. But you hit it for a home run. Kudos  Turbolence…You didn’t even need to bait DavidHH into saying something stupid. They just did it on their own.

Right. How many middle fingers did he see along the way?

Lost me at ‘My girlfriend is getting a Model Y’. Has she seen what the Muskrat has said about/treated women. Seriously. Musk uses his money to try to influence the way women are treated, so she should use hersFuck that guy. Go with an Ioniq5. If you wait a little longer you will get half the federal credit.
