Comb the desert, you say?
I don’t know if that’ll buff out...
Coincidence or not: Chris Harris and one of his Top Gear co-hosts signed to produce a “Road Trip” series earlier in 2024.... I bet he’s just looking for some media spotlight ahead of their return... what better way to get attention than to start a feud with Clarkson, since they appear to be about to rip-off TGT...
First Gear: For the love of god, Tesla (and Waymo and the rest), stop forcing the public to participate in your half-baked experiments against their will.
It’s real weird to for two people to confidently pontificate about an event that happened a decade and a half ago, which neither of them witnessed, on a TV show that neither of them were involved with at the time.
It was always about dollars spent, not miles flown. These are loyalty programs aimed at cultivating dedicated customers. The amount of money they expect to get from their “frequent fliers” is *at minimum* $1 greater than whatever they give back in return. Minus the advertisement budget. If they thought for one second…
The thing about documents is that they’re written, not uttered.
I loved my Miata, but after a many years, I’ve pretty much mastered it and I find myself looking at V8 Vantages and Corvettes with an increasingly lustful eye.
If these tech bros want to do their unsafe experiments on an unsuspecting public, I should be able to use them as subjects for *my* experiments whenever I want. After all, Phase I clinical trials are awfully expensive.
“What is the actual benefit here?” covers ALL of their self-driving features and really anybody’s Level 2 autonomous drive features. I don’t care how relatively good one make’s L2 is vs. someone else’s. If it’s L2... it’s crap. YOU are always the final backup. The failsafe. The one liable if something goes wrong. You…
the thing I remember from first gen iphone was no GPS, the technology was there and it was a blatant hold back for the next version...
Boy, that’s a weird thing for a “free speech absolutist” to do.
I have the courage to speak the truth. A Fiero that wasn’t kneecapped by the Corvette would be (and would have been) awesome.
What’s that? Do people drive downhill at high speeds on winding roads while miraculously maintaining 100% charge?
Not any one in particular, but I loved the Torch’s Taillights series. A glorious flirtation with madness, with some interesting bits of trivia sprinkled liberally throughout. I also enjoy the internecine bickering of What Car Should You Buy? Honestly, I just really like it when Jalopnik gets weird with it. That’s when…
Yeah, I knew some lights had sensors to let emergency vehicles through, but I also kind of assumed they wouldn’t be triggered by *any and every car’s headlights.*
Well, I for one have never heard of this one. Only been driving for 35 years so you’d think I’d know about it....
It’s good that M5 owners don’t go to the track. They’re so heavy that smaller cars like the Elise or Miata are unable to escape the enormous gravity-well of the M5. It's a real problem.
Okay, I’ll bite... Are there really that many “myths about traffic signals,” such that an individual might feel compelled to dedicate significant time to dispelling them?
