How can one respect anything a car”expert” says who drives a Honda fit? He clearly hates Musk but as an economic analyst he leaves much to be desired. I get the impression that he has shorted tesla and is desperately hoping not to lose his shirt. To base all his conclusions on one month’s sales in the U.S. is

They don't have pop out handles on the Model 3! Troll alert

Amen.the old S series used to be great cars. The newer ones have so many bells and whistles that can and will go wrong that used models out of warranty are money pits (as are ALL Audi’s)

Only problem is fitting into it if you are over 6foot

From a design viewpoint the classic has to be the original Passat. With a V6 and 4Motion it was also fun to drive. Unfortunately it also had Audi/VW electronics. The Mercedes 560SEC also still looks impressive. Although it was so desirable that it was almost impossible to insure if you lived in an urban area

“The Performance had much tighter steering”! RTFM the steering effort is adjustable (together with the acceleration and the level of regenerative braking). You can save those settings together with the mirrors etc.. The Performance had tighter steering because the previous driver had chosen it

Unless there are A/B blind tests of the competing formats the evaluations are meaningless. Funny how we never see those though? Could it be because all of these"experts" wouldn't be able to actually distinguish between them?

Nobody is forcing you to read the article

You charge the EV while you sleep. So it takes much less of YOUR time than an ICE.  And 90 percent of people drive less than 10000 miles per year.Ask yourself when you last drove more than 300 miles in a day. There are things called airplanes

Tesla isn’t losing money on every car. From an economist’s viewpoint they are investing in building capacity. With several hundred thousand reservations still outstanding and their competitors “announcing production” (in two years time) Tesla is actually looking in pretty good shape. Remember when Jalopnik and all the

That's funny because EAP Enhanced Auto Pilot is NOT standard it is a $5000 option.

Yes you obviously are since it DOES disconnect the autopilot if you ignore warnings. Autopilot is meant to assist you. It is explicitly NOT Autonomous driving

Yes those pilots routinely take off and land without being near the controls. I have a Model 3 and the screen warns you repeatedly about autopilot's limitations and the driver's responsibilities. Sounds as if she almost won Darwin's lottery

All this criticism of Musk for not focusing all his attention on building model 3 s is idiotic. Hasn’t anybody heard of delegation?

Absolute nonsense.after 200000 miles a model S Tesla has lost 15 percent of its capacity and owners report that a major ADVANTAGE is that you plug it in at night and then never have to go by a gas station again

“flood the market”? VW keeps on announcing concept cars but hasn’t even broken ground for a battery factory. GM is selling 1000 cars per month and in any case can’t get more than 50000 battery modules per year from LG, which produces the batteries and drives.

Speaking of dumb shit. Why is FElton always so angry about everything? And why does he hate Tesla? Autonomous driving isn’t 100 percent safe! What an insight. But it doesn’t have to be. It simply has to be safer than driving yourself to offer a net improvement
