Anime: Knights and Magic. I liked it in that he remembered his skills as a software guy but did not really recall his past. It was a nice take on a world driven by magic technology as well as espionage when folks steal his stuff.

The final battle is ultimately between fanbois. It was neat yet disposable.

Belgariad, which I loved as a kid in the 80s, doesn’t age well but could be adapted and be enjoyable.

WoT on the other had starts out OK then turns into hot dumpster-fire trash. I don’t know which book I stopped at but it was the one where the men were all idiots. The women all had one character trait: they hated men…
