I don’t agree with having a draft at all (mostly because I don’t think we need near the military force we already have, and if there were a real reason to go to war that everyone agreed on, there would be plenty of volunteers), but I agree that if we have one there is no reason not to include women.

Rep. Duncan Hunter of California intended it as “gotcha amendment,” because he didn’t think liberals would vote to draft women.

When he says young girls I think of girls who are maybe ... under 15. It’s not even teenagers - it’s girls. I guess this says something about how he views woman.

I’m not looking to get into a devil’s advocate argument because I’m not even necessarily in favor of getting rid of the TSA, I just think saying, “...to argue that it’s not really necessary is ridiculous,” is an extreme stance.

I encourage you to follow the TSA on instagram. While I think the TSA needs a major overhaul, it is not just “security theater”. The massive amount of weapons they catch on a daily basis is absurd.

But making bureaucracies accountable is an example of government actually working.
