The Democratic Party thinks convicted felons should be given second chances but someone who made a bad racist joke 35 years ago is unforgivable?

I can’t believe people want the govenor to resign over a photo taken 35 years ago. Can we get some perspective here? There are actual present day problems of racism to address.
It’s not a question of socialism or capitalism. All modern economies have elements of both. It’s a question of what is the right balance between the two.
Friday’s show was actually great panel discussion. Hearing differing opinions are good. Kudos to Bill Maher for always pushing against groupthink.
I reread it and no I did not notice it.
I strongly believe you should not falsely accuse people of rape. I also fully believe Grace’s account. Nowhere in it is there a description of rape. Feeling uncomfortable during a sexual encounter is not rape. Regret after the fact is not rape. Grace was not forced to do anything against her will.
Please quote where she said “no” in her published account. Its not there. She said she gave and received oral sex. No one forced her to do anything. She engaged in the sexual activity using her own free will.
Your reading something into her account that wasn’t there.
Where in her account does she say “No.” She said she felt pressured, she was in no way forced though.
You must be reading something else other than Grace’s account. What she describes is not a rape. She describes accepting oral sex from Aziz and Aziz asking for her to reciprocate, which she did willingly. At no point did she say “No” to it or was forced to do it in anyway. Are you suggesting Grace lacks the capacity…
So You. Yes, you clearly have different definition of consent and rape than the majority of people.
Are you unable to articulate a good reason yourself? When you are dealing with something as serious as an accusation of sexual assault or rape it needs to be unambiguous. Non-verbal cues can easily be misread, particularly during a one-night stand where the couple just met. If you felt uncomfortable during a sexual…
He could have stopped and shown her the door.
I have not seen a good answer to that question. Unless there is a threat of violence or some other form of coercion (and there was none in Grace’s account), you should be able to say “No”. It’s simple, straight forward, and unambiguous.
Are you suggesting she did not say no to Aziz because he might have murdered her?
If she was not into why couldn’t she just say “no”?
The new standard is enthusiastic, affirmative consent? This is getting a little ridiculous.
When you go over to someone’s apartment for a hookup after you just met, there is a reasonable expectation that you will be pressured for sex. People need to take responsibility for the situations they put themselves in.
Are we only allowed to use the styles and dance moves that are sterotypical to our own race?
Right... it takes so much courage to anonymously accuse someone of having their hand on your butt when you took a photo with them 10 years ago. Contrast that to the Roy Moore accusers. Those are examples of real courage.
