Given that roughly 100% of businesses don’t run background checks until they’ve given an offer, your issues with this law amounts to just about dick. Those backgrounds cost like $25, less if you’re a bigger company. If you can’t take a $25 hit on a new hire, how the fuck do you even make the week’s payroll?

It may be my hill, but I’m not dying on it, mostly because nothing said on the internet really matters.

I'm still getting hate comments a week after I said the space bombers in the last SW were idiotic on every level.

Unseasoned chicken wings and potato salad with raisins?

Magnets don’t work like that. Like, not at all.

Good fortune to be born in America? Remember the old saying “Eat your food, there’s children starving in China?” The Chinese now say “Eat your food, there’s starving children in America”.

Which is ironic because, traditionally, the closer you were to death the closer you were to god.

Whoah...no oil? What will I sautee my veggies in? I’m supposed to skip meat (okay, fine) and do what...eat boiled veggies all month?

Yes, there was that one time with the GBU-12 that has zero similarity to the scene in Star Wars aside from the term “bomber”.

If they’d had spent more than 5 seconds thinking it through, they could have saved the homage to Twelve O’Clock High for the ending...when they were actually fighting on a planet and bombers kinda make sense.

The USAF doesn’t use dumb bombs on dreadnought sized targets on the ground. Why would they use them in the air if anything like that existed?

Fair point. Mary Sue...ehem...Rey is fanwank personified.

Space ships of any size bear much greater resemblance to aircraft than anything sitting on the surface. They move at very high speeds in 3 dimensions.

Nope. Slow-ass bombers and gravity bombs in space are still dumb. It’s like the USAF trying to shoot down enemy bombers by bombing them from above. And the USAF at least has CCRP/CCIP calculators instead of putting a manual “drop” button on a wired remote that can get lost.

Counterpoint: Julius Ceaser was able to mortally wound the Roman Republic because the Senate became so sclerotic that they couldn’t fix a fucking calender that was off by a whole season.

It’s not necessary, but if/when the choice is made to kill it one needs to be as strategic as possible when you do it. You get one shot, because if you miss your mark you’re getting in the ass when the tables turn again. You will be punished by the opposition. You will probably be punished by voters.

If you’re talking to someone in healthcare, teaching or IT/programming, they’re probably correct.

I’m not sure if someone is trying to make him thinner so much as being obsessed with how shittily-fitted the man’s suits are. Like an alternate universe where Trump is still evil, but dressed well.

I’m preferential to letting Trump walk in, start shaking hands, only to be manhandled back out by the House Sergeant-at-Arms. Clips of Pelosi ordering “remove the president” would be in every documentary of this decade (or administration) ever made.

This email is actually in-line with the White House’s declared policy on political activity. It’s horse shit, but they’ve been consistently shitty about worker’s first amendment rights.
