It would have been very easy, and entirely justifiable, for a judge to extend those protections to fathers - I hope the man’s lawyers also filed for discrimination under the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 too, though.

It’s pretty blatant discrimination, honestly!

WE’RE SO HAPPY!!!! (For our NZ ‘cousins’!)

You’re handling it with way more dignity and poise than I would manage!

Got everything crossed in your favour!

Your response made me cry some happy tears.

My recollection was vague so I didn’t want to inadvertently exaggerate, but right?! And now that’s all people basically remember (at least people think she was clever, I guess?)...

You’re incredibly kind! I think a lot of my exhaustion has stemmed from people who are otherwise progressive and strong allies, ending up not being quite so friendly now that the chips are down. We’re all tired and stressed, but it’s always upsetting to see support for minorities dry up in some quarters now that

NO! Haha! It’s been a tough year and my mental health is rubbish :)

Thank you for taking the time to put together this comment.

This was my first thought... Having an Israeli woman playing one of the most famous historical Egyptian women, who was a descendent of mixed Macedonian/African heritage, is going to raise some objections...

I was going to say, it just seems like one long tsunami of a wave with little end in sight, because numbers have never dropped enough to indicate that there is a first or second wave in action...?!

Lol we Australians wish...

I think you can blame the ‘media’ for that more than him.

SAME and also the heart makes me hmmm pretty heavily.

That makes sense then in how Rickman played Snape.

Well that makes sense then haha

I always wondered if JK was influenced by Rickman’s version of Snape and the character’s final, “redeeming” moments of ‘true love’ are just because Rickman would (and did) play them so well

I feel we both know the answer is no...
