Yet another good example of why tipping should be completely done away with! Customers think it practically entitles them to a two hour blow job, and waitstaff are in constant fear of the slightest perceived insult from a sensitive nutjob affecting their livelihood. It’s a completely stupid system.

Cat pee is a chemical weapon. Well played.

Agreed. Some people aren’t happy until you drop to the ground and wash their feet with your hair. I don’t understand why average Joes feel like some other average Joe working retail/service industry should treat them like water-filled balloons, ready to burst.

I worked a lot of retail in college, and it happens in that industry too. I had people go to my manager and complain that I didn’t smile the whole time I served them. I was always fast, polite, capable, and would do exactly as they asked. However, the fact that I didn’t smile like a loon the entire time, I deserve to

Now, don’t freak out about this apparently new and alien concept, but you are not all men. You do not understand, and cannot comprehend all male experiences. Shocking, I know, but the evidence in favor is pretty compelling. What may not be traumatizing to you can be to another man, and unless you’ve actually been in

Sure there is. It’s just that the ‘palm’ isn’t part of the same body as the ‘face’ and my husband gets tired of bailing me out.

Oh don’t worry. We Americans are still complete and utter assholes to servers in countries where there IS a living wage for the service industry and no culture of tipping. It’s not necessarily the “tipping” part of “tipping culture” that’s the problem.

Agreed except for one thing. It’s mostly shifting payroll taxes off the employer and onto the employee. Restaurants usually run on pretty thin margins, so if they just paid the tipped employees properly, there would be an increase in charges per item, although (if done fairly) would probably not lead to an increase

I used to be a better-than-average tipper before I lived with my roommate, who worked at our local college bar. I go to a hoity toity school of entitlement in the name and she told me it’s hit or miss regarding tips when the customer is using daddy’s credit card. Most of the time they stiffed her. On a relatively slow

I so completely agree with this. I am a very good tipper because I know my tips subsidize the wages of restaurant workers, but I really, really object to tipping because it perpetuates something I despise: employers not paying their workers a living wage.

There is no living wage threshold though. I always sneak a few bucks to the servers at Dunkins - the no tip jar policy at that franchise is awful - particularly since the quality of the donuts evaporated. A server at a higher end restaurant who know about wine, bacon powder. etc.should be tipped beyond any living wage

I gave bikini waxes at a salon for two years. Customers do not tip based on service. There is SO much more service in waxing your fresh out of tennis/spinning/fucking wannabe nether hairs without putting a clothespin on my nose.

I remember reading a fb post where a mom was upset because “my son blew kisses at you twice, and you ignored him, there goes your tip.” May she kick the biggest bag of the hardest rocks forever.

I’m against the tipping system but I’m also against the current federal minimum wage. With tips I’m 15-20 bucks an hour on average, so I’d hate to drop down to under 9.

Stop being an arse.

MFW customers tell me that it’s someone’s birthday, like it fucking means anything to me. I’m not singing and I’m not dancing, you weird people who only eat at chain restaurants where employees are forced to do that.

Yeah, there’s a lot of inequality in the tipping system. To a bartender who works full time and get’s a lot of tips, they do quite well even with a few bad tips but to a part timer, who only works “peak” times, every tip is important. Also, the base wage for tipped positions can vary quite a bit. Some states, you only

Exactly. An actual company will have materials scientists making the formula, the budget for product testing, and lawyers to make everyone aware of how very, very bad it will be if the product hurts people. A guy fucking around in his basement has none of these things. People can try to get on my ballsack about 5-free

You’re kidding right? Boys and men can be molested... and they are usually ashamed to come forward. Doesn’t have to be traditional sex to be raped. Men can be raped by men.

Law and Order: SVU has covered this, and I expect the public to keep up.
