Hai, korewoshitteimasu :)
Yeah, I wasn’t too fussy as a kid - I’m fussier now, actually, but I cook my own food so it’s my own problem :P
The more of a dive a joint is, the more likely I am to use the women’s bathroom (especially if I’m cross dressing), so I can say with all sincerity that they can be absolutely feral. But that was definitely the worst. Men’s bathroom are however more likely to be disgusting, though.
Oh yeah -.- Male bathrooms are nasty as hell (and sometimes I just back right the hell out because there is no surface that can be touched, at all) but female ones can be awful too. Especially if someone decides that it needs decorating in menstrual fluid - all over the walls, the stall doors, the sinks, the mirror...…
Ah. Typical gaikokujin ;)
I think this is something some people don’t understand - the Catholic Church is seriously conservative, and by both nature and design a very slow, difficult beast to change. Any tiny movement towards progress should be rewarded, because if it isn’t, it will be seen by those who oppose it as proof that they shouldn’t…
Isn’t he also a Jesuit? They’re like, the most awesome liberal badarse priests in the Catholic church :P They’re all about education and genuinely helping those in poverty - I was educated in a Jesuit school, and when one kid objected to sending food to Islamic refugees until they were converted, one priest snapped…
My grandma is similar - staunchly Catholic, but when someone arises to challenge the teachings of the Church (like my step-father marrying my divorcee Church of England mum, or me being gay) she thinks critically about it and has always come to the conclusion that if people are happy, and doing what they do out of…
*internally screaming* That’s so creepy and horrible and omgomgomg...
When my grandfather died, we had a full Catholic funeral mass - I thought I’d hate it (I’ve been agnostic for years) but I know that’s what he would have wanted and strangely all the ceremonial, religious pageantry helped me get through it. It’s was beautiful and solemn and I cried the whole time, but it was also…
It’s actually very funny - when I was a kid, my mum would send me to school with falafel wraps, hummus and cut veggies, chickpea/bean salads, and stuff like that. And all the kids teased me because I didn’t have a ham and salad sandwich, a juice box and a muesli bar/LCM bar. Now, its the total opposite. It makes me…
...what’s kawhi? o.O
My Japanese host mum made me cry the first time I unpacked my lunch and it was beautifully cut and styled and so so so pretty! I didn’t want to eat it and it made me so happy, because I was home sick and had had awful food poisoning and she’d kept the food plain for me and put so much effort into it... Ah, memories.
a) men to shut down women b) white people to shut down P.O.C c) straight people to shut down queer people... Basically anytime any “majority” group think the “minority” group is getting too uppity, they smugly tell the minority to simmer down and ask nicely. Like, how dare anyone being shat all over complain that it’s…
The only time we tip is for really, extraordinary, above and beyond service, or if it’s a 5 star super expensive/fancy restaurant, where it’s just sort of accepted that you tip for some odd reason (like when we went to Nobu, we tipped on our $250 bill for two that didn’t include any alcoholic drinks, and when a…
I’m confused - isn’t the “right thing” here also the legally mandated thing because otherwise they’ll get their arses sued all the way into the next century?
Yeah, I’m with you there.
Australians (particularly drunk ones) can be awful abroad too - but I must admit, the worst behaviour I’ve ever witnessed, particularly in Japan, was from Americans...
They were pretty moot before, now they’re just also hypocritical.
I’m an Australian - I’m aware she cannot just be fired as her position is that of an elected official. Which freaks me the fuck out. Do you guys really vote for people like this??? I mean... Jeez. Why the hell would a country allow positions like this to be electable?? It’s insane!!! Surely it should be based on merit…
