Australia only imports US beef that is canned or in a ready made meal - I don’t know about pork, but I imagine it’s likely the same situation with only very limited imports approved.
I was thinking of the kids in the Westboro Baptist Church, who are growing up (and ins ome cases grown up) in that hateful environment (not the adults who chose to join). They had more access to the outside world than the Duggers, but seem to be still turning out having swallowed the family bigotry hook, line and…
Thank you very much.
I’m not from the USA, but hugs and kisses for trying.
Thank you <3
While that’s true, I can’t help but think of the Westbro Baptists Church - those kids DO have access to televison and the internet and they STILL believe or at least appear to believe all that crap. I really hope if any of those kids are gay, that they do have the strength to break free, but I would also not be…
They are in Australia.
I’m with Pinkham - how is this a thing and why is this a thing?! I don’t want food being thrown at me or around me. I’m also vegetarian with a strong aversion to fried food - from various descriptions of the place, I feel I’m far too much of a snob to appreciate it.
Of course they can be. The issue is, for many LBTIPQA people, the constant and dispiriting erasure being excused by people who have no business delivering their opinions just adds insult to injury. I’m glad this is making people aware of Stonewall and its significance, but I’m also really not - there are other movies…
My partner and I are thinking lolly buffet with personalised bags for guests to take away, and little bottles of booze (spirits) - the buffet is only because literally everyone who knows we’re engaged has demanded it, and the booze is an apology because our bar will not be overflowing with it - I don’t drink at all…
An awful element is that (idiotic) straight people are going to bleat “but Emmerich is gay, that means this movie is legit, how dare you criticise him/it!”
Except it’s more likely that even if one of those kids was gay, they’re so brainwashed they’d just marry straight and live their whole life in tortured denial, believing they were going to Hell :/ Which is tragic and so sad when it happens.
Australian law student :) We call it the “eggshell skull principle”, I just figured it was quicker to explain it rather than be asked what the fuck I meant 500 times. And yes, you’re right - but I still think there may be some argument in that while they may have consented to a roll being thrown to them, the waiter…
Doesn’t matter :) In tort (I’m assuming they’re bringing a tort claim, anyone feel free to tell me more about crazy US law though!) you have to have take the victim as they come - this person could have been very delicate, but that’s just the way shit goes down. And besides, you are throwing an object at a person -…
I so want to agree with you, Pinkham, because everyone in this is stupid and deserves a horrible, fiery death for their involvement (seriously, “throwed rolls”?! Go the Hell), but even if the lady in question essentially agreed to have bread thrown at her (seriously, how is this a thing?!) she didn’t agree to having a…
I think so too. I never expected the negative reaction I got when I came out to my parents - they had lots of gay friends so I thought it would be fine, but it turned out it was only fine when it wasn’t their children.
It’s just really dispiriting and depressing that a minority of people’s voices are being favored over more than 70% of Australians.
I blame Peter Pan. I know that sounds weird, but it’s such a popular story that it makes plenty of sense in the UK to “play” Native Americans, including wearing headdresses, playing in teepees etc.
I’m very curious (and not attempting to troll). I underestand why a 70-something white male socialist might not appeal to African-Americans as President. I understand that he has not set out a clear policy or direction for ending racism in the USA.
