At least the F-35 is turning out to be pretty good. The avionics\EW\Networking crap on it is supposed to be amazeballs. Since everyone and their mother will be flying it its going to be compatible with a shit load of munitions. Despite the Boyd brigade misreading leaked flight test comments it’s supposed to be

Avro Arrow is an overhyped mythical plane that would have been a total wasted effort. The design was flawed. It never met any of its targets. It only completed a miniscule % of flight testing and every single talking point about the Arrow is from dreamers and old press materials from Avro. Never fitted with weapons

Remember when they were going to buy 700+ raptors? Then all the same political bullshit and it got whittle down every damn year until they finally said screw that.

A-10 is “popular” because its able to make multiple passes with its gun. It flies slow enough to be seen and is maneuverable enough to be a pain in the ass at low alt with the right terrain.

They’ll incorporate any “lessons learned” into their design. They are probably looking forward to examining the weapons systems changes and also manufacturing processes.

Would You Pay $165,000 For A Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport?

They are definitely not spending as much in fuel since they can barely keep their planes in the air.

That thing is basically good for about 30-45 minutes in the air before your have to land and refuel.

The Russians and Chinese are going after a “throw everything and a kitchen sink strategy” to deal with stealthy designs. They are pursuing a AESA\VHF\Passive emmisions detection networks including IRST systems.

We have lots of bomb trucks.

Did you do follow the roads out to the beach for stall training? I used go with a friend when he was going for his license back in the early 90’s.

Instead of waiting for the GAU-30 to show up you could just ask the B1b thats been circling over head to drop a jdam. At the very least give it something to do since its been up there for 4 hours already just waiting for targets. It gets boring just sitting up there checking checking the video off the sniper pod. If

Around 45Mil per plane. They also bought the starter set so they got free mugs and the jackets with the patch on it and all that.

The ‘welcome to the 90’s’ Block 52’s sold to Iraq were around 46mil plus tax toll and tip.

We can’t buy British fighters because jobs are on the wrong side of the ocean

P51 is combat proven. We should build all the mustangs.

Damn kinja from phone

Most recent new build was the block 60 sold to uae. The flyaway on that was 80 million per plane . The v adds more goodies and chucks the problematic apg80 currently installed in that model for a much better set. Realistic flyaway for new build is likely F35 money for less overall capability.

Years of riding motorcycles shaped my opinion on this a long time ago.
