Camry’s and a lot of Toyota platforms are exceptionally engineered. When comparing the engineering\design choices of my Camry or our Highlander to my GTI, I’d say that the Toyota’s are better designed for serviceability, repair and longevity. You will get Golf owners proudly declaring that their car has made it 80K or…
I just picked up a 2021 GTI S with the 6 spd manual. It’s a joy to drive (Aside form the typical rev hang on most modern manual cars)
I just bought a 2021 GTI S (manual) to take over duties from my Camry (2002 manual). Camry still runs perfectly. The only repairs have been to replace a rusty flex pipe, an O2 sensor. Original everything aside from standard maintenance items.
Congrats on it. My first question is what exactly are you planning to do with it?
Clutch pedal.
Scam car. That gauge cluster came from the yard and that entire dash has been out of the car.
To shop for a manual transmission car is basically an excersise of buying site unseen outside of a Mustang or Camaro.

“As fate would have it (the protesters) move in that direction and go down 46 St.,” Shea explained. “You have a bicyclist block the car from moving.”

Former owner with a lot of seat time in these things back when they were newish.
If iiI didnt have other shit going on, I would have already been on a plane right now to check it out.
Ownership requires you to move to a place that does not get wet and does not get too hot. Due to lack of AC and “rust as a feature”.
Just set one up with a raspberry pi. Works great and easy to manage if you have to adjust the filters
CP based on market conditions and the achilles heel of the Ford 3.5, the engine killing water pump that will need to be replaced around this mileage.
My 2nd car and first manual was an 85. Mom drove an 88. I’ve driven the V6 model and generally been in many of these spanning the period of time thewse infested the roads.
Current GTI’s with the manual have an intermittent stalling problem. Should be avoided until VW addresses root cause
All BMW’s this age should probably be considered salvage.
