What is even more pernicious is that white folks can sounds as dumb & country & unintelligible as they wanna be and they are “folksy,” salt of the earth people, and blacks who use even a soupcon of slang are ignorant animals.

A whole lot of what we see going on in the NFL right now is a calculated plan by the NFL. Changing the topic from abuse and inequality to unity (when we all know there is none).

Nearly lost my mind this morning as my sports talk radio tried to get onto this by saying “This is great, a lot of people kneeled, now their unifying by locking arms and nobody needs to kneel anymore. Let’s kneel before the anthem like the Cowboys did, that’ll make as many people happy as possible”

It’s when Damon Young casually drops a few expletives when writing about grits on VSB, but not when he’s writing about trusting women on Huffingtonpost (originally on VSB though).

You switch codes for different audiences.

I don’t trust anyone that anthropomorphises their pets (“It’s my baby!” regarding your chihuahua), or cares about animals more than humans.

You came after grits, and I’ma haffa clap back. Shrimp and grits is one of the finest culinary experiences America gave to the world. Almost justifies slavery. Almost.

Darius gets all the accolades, but Van is definitely the unsung hero of the show.

“It’s organized. They have meetings. They solicit money. They have national chapters. This shows a level of national organization.” But are they registered in some way as a legal entity in your state? No? Then you’ve got nothing. Simply having conferences and sharing money doesn’t make Black Lives Matter protesters

Right? I’m contacting that lawyer first thing tomorrow so I can sue all them hashtags in the cloud. I’m sure she has one of those pitches where she says, “I don’t get paid unless you win” so I’ll be safe either way.

I’m laughing at the “suing a hashtag” part. I thought this lawsuit was dumb at the outset, but it exceeded my expectations.

“For reasons that should be obvious, a hashtag - which is an expression that categorizes or classifies a person’s thought - is not a ‘juridical person’ and therefore lacks the capacity to be sued,” Jackson wrote.

I’ve always used “The Lawnmower Dog,” as it seems a very good combination of what you get from the series (parodies, science fiction, social commentary), tight story telling, excellent voice acting from the entire cast and introduction to all the characters, and it doesn’t get terribly dark. If you like it, I can’t

I’m glad someone else talks about their love of this kid besides me. This entire episode was just magic. I just kept cracking up like, “What the fuck is wrong with this child?”

It’s Hulu. That’s what we getting for wanting to cut the cord.

Morty and I share a loathing for starting something off with “Three Weeks Earlier” title cards.

What’s so tough about the repeated theme “the only reason you’re maladjusted is because you’re so smart and everything is meaningless”? Nihilism is easy.

I’m more than ok with the occasional silly/loose episode. I actually don’t mind the non-essential “Rick and Morty go on an actual adventure” episodes like the Purge episode, for example. Not every episode needs to be a universe-building story episode. There’s a reason filler exists!

I don’t think the purge episode is worse than what they’ve done this season, but if they aim for more purge-quality episodes, I am afraid we’ll just get Family Guy in space.

Personally, I’d rather he stick to 10 episodes so that he could chill the frak out a little more. He’s such a perfectionist and mad scientist that I fear he’ll pop like an over-inflated balloon. Maybe that way we can get more seasons and episodes overall.

What an amazing season this has been , and with Bojack on fire we’ve been rather spoiled recently - Is Archer coming soon? (phrasing)
