same I laughed out loud when watching it and upvoted it. I remember it being pretty evenly upvoted and downvoted when it first hit youtube.

huh, horror-comedy?! but there’s literally not one scary thing in it! ghost-story-comedy is more like it.
According to one of PewDiePie’s troll-response videos, he says that YT changed the way they pay their content creators—so instead of likes and subscribers, it’s more based on how many minutes a video was watched total. So all these haters coming to watch the Ghostbusters trailer are just giving them more money. :P
“Their jobs as Ghostbusters and everything they did there depended on selling themselves to other people and getting other people to accept that they have a legitimate service to offer.”
“Also, your concept of them being proven right is not actually born out in the movies; despite ghosts obviously existing in the first, the second one reveals no one really accepts it.”
So many hours of my life and dollars from my pocket wasted on going to movies where the one hilarious joke was in the trailer, and the trailer had the better execution of the joke.
So, your definition of “failed” is that society at large disapproves of you, even if you’re right? Clearly in this movie ghosts do exist therefore their book was correct, but because their peers don’t believe them you deem them a failure. If they are the ones who were right all along wouldn’t make them correct, and…
Aaak. There's little worse than a fabulous trailer that is essentially a fabulous One Minute Movie, because every "high point" is distilled into a tantalizing teaser. Then you pay for admission and sit through 2 hours of agonizing "filler" (i.e. the movie).
I liked the original and rewatched it recently on a whim and yeah I don’t understand the pedastal it is on.
I don’t get the haterade either but comedy trailers in general could be touch and go. I like the new look of the ghosts. Kate McKinnon being a magnificent weirdo, Leslie Jones “It’s a Cadillac,” had me rolling. I’m sold.
Ya girl you are evil. What people don’t realize that trailers means shit. You might have the best trailer ever made for the shittiest movie ever made showing best parts or cut out parts of the movie or you might have mediocre trailer for a good movie.
This one:
Shout out to everyone who sees through my sinister Jez agenda. Whahahahahahahahaha WHO YOU GONNA CALL?!
Mccarthy hasn’t been in anything great post Bridesmaids
Interesting that people don’t always notice - a lot of the best trailers have little bits/extensions that aren’t even in the movie.
I’m not arguing that the original movie has issues with misogyny (“prehistoric bitch”) and the alleged treatment of Ernie Hudson’s character is pretty atrocious, if true.
Who cares if the trailer looks like shit? As the article points out, there are lots of extremely shitty movies that never came close to this level of dislikes.
I don’t care that people don’t like the trailer. Or don’t want to see the movie because they don’t like it’s been rebooted (I’m assuming they also boycott Batman and Superman movies, but I doubt it), but it’s so very telling they have to also broadcast how much they hate it AND down vote it everywhere. How many…
They... programmed bots to automatically dislike the trailer? And are campaigning to get to 1 million dislikes?
I dislike this thread. I actually think the trailer is super funny. Will go on youtube right now and vote for it
