This is the accurate take. Additionally, McFarlane just isn’t that good of a storyteller.

If you trust your parents financial sense and have open dialogue with them, I’d check to see if they can open a line of credit for something they need in your name AND pay it off.
DC resident and regular Uber/Lyft user. In the past I’ve had horrible experiences with taxi cabs. When I would attempt to flag taxis down with $20 bills feathered in my between my fingers, none would stop.
Wanda’s a comedian, so I know she deals with some people who are embarrassingly outspoken. A lot comedians are the first ones to stand up for each other for these same opinions, but I guess Wanda just had too much. Good for her for having a line and making a brave choice to turn down that network money and access.
My family’s Caribbean (Haitian-specifically), so we make a ti-punch and it’s perfect for a summer BBQ:
Establishment democrats keep trying to tell everyone to vote for center-right or right candidates, but I just can’t do it.
I mostly agree.
I get the peanut farmer going out and putting together 4-square homes and getting his hands dirty, but I never expected a Harvard lawyer to get his hands dirty by helping with physical labor. Maybe get his hands dirty with some drone bombings, but that’s another issue.
completely agree. And there’s definitely a need to have institutions exercise some authority. I was just starting from the agreement of the 1st amendment. Others have pointed out case law that addresses this specifically.
Thanks. Don’t know the case law as I’m not an attorney. Glad to see there’s some previous place to start at
Look at his parents. This dude has 20 years left on the clock. I’m not happy about it, but I’m definitely figuring out ways to tolerate from the next few years and how to put in the work to make a positive mark from this.
I’m not a fan of a public school punishing a kid for pursuing the first amendment. Do what you like and say what you like, just be aware of the consequences. If the school suspends him, that’s lawsuit time. If someone balls up their fist and knocks his block off, he’ll learn that he might have to reconsider his choice.
There’s definitely power dynamics at play. In an industry where so many people are good enough but not stellar, the possibility of skipping the line by offering sex is tempting. On the other end, there are people with power who say “you have nothing and I can give you something if you give me what I want.”
I knew a few people who got jobs at IBM in the DC area in the early 2000s starting at 60/65K. But your point is spot on.
Damn! I always see stories of white guys throwing their wives off cruise ships, but this is a new level. This beats kayak-lady by a country mile.
He really hasn’t had a bonafide winner (with his face) since Pulp Fiction, so I’m sure he’s playing it as neutrally as possible as he coasts to the grave. Sure, some people liked Face/off (re-watch it, it STINKS) and Hairspray (the original was MUCH better), but remember, he’s settled multiple times for soliciting and…
A lot of people live based on “what’s good is what’s good for me.” Maybe he gets some shit, but he may be surrounded by people who think just like him.
This is the case that always reminds me of the pain of winning the lottery: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham_Shakespeare
His name and location suggests he’s Haitian.
Whenever I had egregious consumer affairs, I’d send mass emails to entire companies’ senior leadership. Maybe you get a response from a dean or provost? Couldn’t hurt.
