oohhh puh-leeeze.. The 2nd Amendment has been around since the dawn of the Nation, and only in the last couple of decades has the system felt the alleged need to militarize the police. The 2nd amandment has NOTHING to do with this. It’s the system itself deteriorating and imploding with the ever so repeatedly recorded

... the same rednecks you bitch about are the very ones that would be lined up against military action against citizens.”

Probably a lot of these are getting rolled up into collateraized debt obligations, so they don't stay on the lenders' books for long. They're disguised and sold to high-rolling investors. Same as they did with subprime mortgages, which worked out so well.

Yes, a 400hp Golf R wagon would be ideal, please and thank you.

Instead of the Mazda3, I would substitute the VW Golf/GTI/R. Hatchback is more useful, in my opinion, and the VW drives better.

Yeah, the 3 is a bit redundant to the Accord on that list. Needs a hot hatch — so Golf/GTI (since we don’t have a real Civic hatch any more) ... or dare I ask for a Fit SI?

Just want to say that Elon Musk met with Epstein after the reveal of the pedophilia case...about 2 years later. You might want to Google that.

driven like drunk parade floats

Since I’ve probably seen more Camrys rolled over than any other car (in spite of them almost always being driven like drunk parade floats), this doesn’t surprise me.

Jesus christ man, it’s taken decades of heavy drinking to repress those memories. Please don’t make me think about Z Cavaricci pants ever again.

I have a 2013 GTi with plaid seats and DSG. It’s the first car I’ve owned without a manual transmission. I’ve been driving for more than 25 The years. DSG is awesome though. And so are the plaid seats.

People who want a sunroof, better stereo and adaptive cruise control?

Two locals in my town own these and every time one passes by it’s truly an “event”. Even if you think you’re ready for it. That hunkered down stance with the steamroller tires makes that car look LOW and WIDE like some exotics would like to be able to pull off. And that crazy rumbling 180 degree V8 sounds like you put

The issue here, as stated by the head of the EPA, is that California has been dictating for the US using their exemption.

What utter ignorance. Auto makers have to satisfy global emissions standards, not just US. Did you even read the entire article? And btw, one of those thirteen states that all use the higher California standards are not on either of the coasts.

Well, it would’ve been a compromise, in any case. But why was there an attempt at a rollback plan in the first place? The automakers themselves saw no need for it. It would be harmful to the automakers, the consumers, and the environment. It seems like a no-win proposal that is literally hurting the entire country.

People love to roll their eyes at California like it’s some liberal basket case when in reality it’s not only the biggest state in the Union but the 5th largest economy in the world.

The reason we don’t have kei cars is because of crash test regulations, not fuel economy regulations.

I understand the Republican belief that eliminating regulations is good, but what’s the point of urging car manufacturers to raise emissions? Like, isn’t the whole point of eliminating regulations to give business the freedom to do what it wants? And if what it wants is even better for the Earth, why fight it?

I read the NYT article this morning. The thing that jumped out at me was this:
