When I was five years old, we lived in a small town in Lincolnshire named Normanby-by-Spital. You can find it on Google Maps. There was a Vulcan base nearby, so I saw low fly-bys right over the house. When you’re five years old it’s something you never forget.

My Dad was a test engineer on the Comet 3. He’s got some really cool stories about the test flights, and he can name-drop some pretty famous DeHaviland test pilots.
