If they were shopping on fuel economy and EV range, they would opt for a sedan. Customers want the “safety” of a higher riding vehicle and the “utility” of AWD. They claim they need room for their kids and passengers, but then buy crossovers with less headroom (and legroom) than some sedans.

Lot of places seem to be doing this already. My old job as a “process engineer” (engineering specialist: process) didn’t require an engineering degree.

Reduce passenger and cargo room for 1-2 more MPG. Makes sense!

I’m aware why it’s designed that way. Doesn’t make it less stupid looking. Crossovers have just as bad rear headroom now than sedans.

As long as the rear doesn’t slope downward like most crossovers do, I like it.
