Movies and episodes are different from a story-telling perspective. A movie has to tell a full arc of a story, but an episode just has to tell a piece of it. Maybe this format just jives better with their skills. Because Sapochnik himself directed both Repo Men and some of the most gorgeous episodes of GoT.
