I wish I could be blinded more by nostalgia since I can only assume most people are happier for it. Too often I'll go back and watch/play/listen to something I loved and realize it's actually kind of terrible. But good luck ever getting anyone else to admit it. People must be afraid an 80s nostalgia patrol will throw

Sports games - specifically EA's NHL - have actually been getting worse.

That and it lost any sense of adventure when the hero is essentially Superman and the CGI is done so badly it might as well be a direct-to-video release.

I thought the same thing too, except with someone so self-centered or clueless that they feel the need just to give input regardless of it's usefulness or practicality, at a certain point it's like trying to have a logical discussion with an illogical person.

Definitely. The ability to write a cheque and be correct universally are mutually inclusive. If only more people understood this. Your employer pays you? Any opinion you have in contradiction to theirs is wrong by default.

Motorcycle warning stickers have to be some of the worst. They're always in multiples (mine had at least 4-5), they're put in overly conspicuous places, they're difficult to remove, and worst of all they're for absolutely stupid warnings like "wear a helmet" and "don't drink and drive."

I don't get it either, at least the license plate covers which can be removed in minutes. Whenever I bring it up, people basically take the "Why you mad bro" approach or even just fall back on their laziness with "why does it matter?"

The taped jersey thing is so foreign to me. Maybe it's a regional thing, or certain sports, but here in Toronto where people are fans of nearly any NFL team, and at Jays, at hockey, you just never see it.

I was at the game and there were probably more people wearing random sporting gear than Falcons fans. Bizarrely, you see it at every Toronto NFL game.

"Pretty sweet deal" vs "Pretty sweet combo" = An equivalent amount of irrelevance as saving about $17 on about $820.

"Pretty sweet deal" is more than a bit of hyperbole.

If it was a more valued book though, why would you risk reading it on the subway?

There's a difference between not reading between the lines of a contract - or all the lines of a contract - and not reading even the header of an online listing. There's always that element of buyer beware, but sometimes people are so beyond stupid.

The two games I've played most the last 1-2 months, and will for the next few months at least, are NHL 14 and GTA V - two games not available on a next gen console.

I love Forza 5 on Wii U. Way better.

With NHL it went back and forth. EA had some very strong versions around 2000-2002, but then made a turn for the arcade right around the time that the 2k series was coming into their own. NHL 2k3 and 2k4 were superior to EA's versions, with even 2k5 taking an edge. By 2k6 though the series took a step back while EA's

For myself it's not about a game being shitty or anything, but more just making the most out of your time. If I only have 1-2 hours, and it's beside watch some TV or play a game, it's really one or the other, unless I do both at the same time.

You don't have to buy both at launch.

A lot of the eggs are in few baskets, being select networks like HBO, and sports.
