I understand what you mean by “good times”. Geopolitics was easier when the USSR was enemy #1. I just think it’s too early to call it on Iraq. Vietnam is easy for many to forget, and Iraq is much more fresh. But you even brought up another great point, we were sending over draftees to Vietnam. Over 50,000 Americans

I have strong concerns about his willingness to respond to situations that mandate a timely response. We were on the offensive in Iraq so we had the benefit of time, and in hindsight it should have been debated much more. But when responding to situations like we are now, we often lack the luxury of a drawn out debate

I’m sorry but I can’t take Bob Woodward’s book as incontrovertible evidence. Does he use in text citations?

I think the lack of open media is precisely what makes his poll numbers a sham. Obama and Congress would likely have inflated poll numbers too if all we got were puff pieces on the occasional positive vote.

I really think calling Iraq a bigger blunder at this point is more about speculation. As you noted I was more discussing the cost in lives and treasure.

Hindsight is 20/20.

You and others have made the same good points, but I still think the our going into Vietnam was a worse idea than our going into Iraq (If Bush really did straight up lie about WMDs then by extension so did Hillary, I think both were getting bad intel). Execution was poor all around. Iraq is just a much more complex

Yeah I know. I just wanted to see what kind of nutty explanation he had. He hasn’t provided any explanation.

Shhh! We aren’t supposed to talk about the Falklands!

58,000 Americans died in the Vietnam War and we didn’t even succeed with our basic strategic objectives. That’s kind of important.

The US is strongly opposing any distribution of MANPADS by anyone, including the Sunni states. There are already plenty floating around from Gaddafi’s stores.

Care to explain it to me?

Bernie Sanders was a conscientious objector to Vietnam, but apparently Iraq was a bigger blunder...

The last Republican debate was held at Reagan’s Presidential Library. That was not a mockup of Air Force One, that was the 707 used by Reagan.

He made some vague references about being a candidate of peace. Whatever that means.

“Let’s try to remain in this generation”

It gets even better. By inserting trolls in the comments of sites hosted in the free world that can actually report the truth, they’re only increasing the activity (read clicks, aka dollars) on said sites. They are funding their enemies with little to no gain for themselves. Keep spending those ever depreciating

Gotcha.

Stratfor charges for almost everything. They have a lot of good sources, and almost everything they publish has a good analysis aspect to it. It’s top shelf content and they expect you to pay top shelf prices. It’s never been marketed towards the everyday consumer anyway.

Having grown up near Barksdale AFB, we never stopped flying low level in B-52s.
