I’m a believer in the “one joke per commenter per article” rule.

You get one chance in your life to have your jersey retired, and you only get that if you’ve been an incredibly important part of an NBA franchise’s history. You’ll live, on average, 28,740 days, and ONE of those days will be the day where you get to sit back and be like “I worked my ass off for fifteen years and I’m

The offensive player cannot enter the crease area to score. Entering is putting a body part onto the floor, so jumping in and releasing (or punching) the ball before you hit the ground is OK.

You’re down 0-2. Choke up and protect the plate.

We voted, and you get Jezebel in the divorce.

Every day that passes with another one of these stories, I can’t help but notice how the USA is rapidly becoming an extremist Christian country. The Republicans and their supporters want absolute control over the people and to enforce their religion on them.

With the GOP Christians, it seems their core belief is hatred

I wonder if this religiously righteous person who did this will have the courage of their convictions to step up and take responsibility.

“conduct compliance reviews, audits and other enforcement actions to ensure that health care providers are allowing workers to opt out of procedures when they have religious or moral objections”

Huh. Well health care workers should be able to say it’s against their moral code to treat deplorables. Voted for Trump? Sorry, it’s against my morals to help you continue to tank the country.

Every time TurboTax asks if my kid paid more than 50% of his living expenses, I look at said kid and go “dude, you need a job” ;p

I cannot muster any enthusiasm for this movie. The “Be a Warrior” tagline seems so trite, the costumes look way over the top, and every time I hear Reese Witherspoon speak in the trailers, it sounds like she’s reading a schoolbook to kindergarteners.

Your kid could be the new Gerber baby or something. In which case, can’t you afford to hire some tax people with all that Gerber-baby money?

What are those numbers based on? We need context. I could see danger from global conflict potentially being higher today, but that’s theoretical rather than realistic for most of the developed world. Compared to the 90s, people are Much safer day to day in the US now (as measured by violent crime stats).

Fincher’s film was striking to look at, you can see all the money spent, but the original was darker, grittier and the lead was much more compelling that Mara. The second film was great too, the third notsomuch.

How depressing
